I stayed here for a solo trip over the New Year's holiday. The location was super convenient, about 1.5km from the main city center, including Notre Dame Cathedral. Typical for Europe, there was no elevator, and my room was on the 4th floor, so going back and forth between my room and the kitchen in the basement was quite a hassle.

This is the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. 1. The shower water was scalding hot with no temperature control, practically skin-peeling. I've never had such a hot shower in my life. 2. The stairs were narrow and steep; I nearly tripped. 3. The street outside the window was very noisy. 4. The room key card frequently malfunctioned, making it impossible to open the door.

The location is convenient and it's inexpensive, but be aware that it's a mixed-gender dorm. The duvet isn't very thick, so it's probably best for spring or summer. There are lockers with keys for your belongings, though everyone seemed quite considerate. If you're a light sleeper, remember to bring earplugs. You'll need to bring your own towel for showering. You can walk from Notre Dame to the Louvre, then through the Tuileries Garden, Place de la Concorde, Arc de Triomphe, and finally the Eiffel Tower – it's a perfect one-day walk.
