Overview Wuning is located in Jiujiang, Jiangxi, and encompasses a vast expanse of the Lushan West Sea. Thousands of emerald islands are scattered across the lake, earning it the nickname "a small city where you can see the sea." Compared to Qiandao Lake, it has fewer tourists, crystal-clear water, and gentle lake shores. The entire itinerary is relaxed, with little high-intensity hiking, focusing on lakeside walks and boat tours. It is perfect for middle-aged travelers looking to unwind, take in the lake views, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy a quiet, slow-paced lakeside getaway. Detailed Itinerary Day 1: Arrive in Wuning, explore the county's lakeside trail, night tour of the West Sea Arrive in Wuning and check into a lakeside homestay. After settling in, take a walk along the West Sea lakeside greenway; the breeze brushes across the lake, and the view is wide. In the evening, wait for the sunset by the lake and watch the sunset glow spill over the islands. At night, stroll through the local snack street in the county, taste Wuning's specialty stick fish and stewed bamboo shoots, and experience the quiet, local charm of the small town. Day 2: Lushan West Sea boat tour, island sightseeing, Jinkou Scenic Area In the morning, head to the pier to take a boat tour of the Lushan West Sea. The boat weaves between the islands, and the water is crystal-clear emerald. Land on the gently sloping islands, walk along the wooden trails, and overlook the landscape of lakes and islands. In the afternoon, head to Jinkou Scenic Area. The lakeside lawn is open, suitable for sitting and resting, feeling the lake breeze, and taking photos to record the lake and island scenery. Take your time and slowly enjoy the scenery where mountains and water blend. Day 3: West Sea Bay Scenic Area, stroll through old town streets, return trip In the morning, visit West Sea Bay, take a boat through the city's inner lake, and enjoy the landscape and local architecture on the shore. Afterward, stroll through the streets and alleys of Wuning's old town, visit local old shops, and pick out a few local lake specialties. After a simple lunch, head back home. Travel Tips 1. There is a significant temperature difference between morning and evening on the lake, so prepare a thin jacket for your trip; pay attention to sun protection when taking a boat. 2. The boat tour itinerary is relaxed, the island trails are mostly flat, and it doesn't require much physical exertion. 3. Spring and autumn are the best seasons for scenery, and summer is cool, suitable for a relaxing getaway.

After spending three days at Sheraton Qiandao Lake, my biggest impression was that "facing the great lake, spring blossoms" isn’t just a poem—it’s the hotel’s everyday reality. 📍 unbeatable location, convenient for everywhere The hotel is right in the center of Qiandao Lake town, occupying a prime lakefront spot with 90% of rooms facing the lake directly. It’s a 10-minute walk to Tianyu Mountain viewing platform and a 15-minute taxi ride to the botanical garden. The best part is the hotel’s own yacht dock—just step downstairs to board a boat and tour the lake, no need to squeeze in at the crowded tourist dock. 🛏️ room experience: wake up to the lake The lakeview room is about 48㎡ with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Qiandao Lake. When you open your eyes in the morning, you see the shimmering water. The balcony is huge with lounge chairs—brewing some Longjing tea and sitting there all afternoon is pure bliss. The bathtub also faces the lake, so you can soak while enjoying the view—who could resist that? The bed features Sheraton’s signature Sweet Sleeper mattress, soft and super comfortable. The room also provides mosquito repellent, which is very handy by the lake this season. 🍽️ dining recommendation: fish head soup is legendary Breakfast is served in the Western restaurant with a wide variety of options. You must try a bowl of freshly made Pian’er Chuan noodles. The highlight at the Chinese restaurant is the organic fish head soup, made with freshly caught Qiandao Lake fathead fish, simmered on the spot. The broth is milky and flavorful—one sip and you’ll be amazed. In the evening, the lobby bar has live music. Order a cocktail, enjoy the lake breeze, and listen to the songs for the ultimate vacation vibe. 📸 photo spots · Lakeside sky garden, stunning light at sunset · Palm tree area by the pool, perfect for a vacation vibe · Lobby spiral staircase, great for shots from above · Yacht dock, with Qiandao Lake as the backdrop for a cool silhouette 🏞️ nearby activities Tianyu Mountain viewing platform is within walking distance and offers the best panoramic view of Qiandao Lake. A single falling leaf offers a glimpse into the prologue of the autumn mountains. The moving scenery of autumn is hidden among the lakes, mountains, and wilderness. you don't plan ahead, as there are many pitfalls! It's better to plan well and have a great time. September to November in Qiandao Lake features crisp autumn air, fewer crowds, beautiful scenery, and the chance to take advantage of free admission on Fridays. This itinerary has no fluff; every step is practical, field-tested advice that saves time and avoids detours. Day 1 Qiandao Lake Station > Take a 30-minute taxi to a homestay near the Central Lake District to drop off luggage > 2:30 PM: Ride a shared e-bike for 10 minutes to Tianyu Mountain > Take the escalator directly to the mountaintop observation deck to catch the orange sunset over the lake around 5:30 PM. No hiking required, and it's 100% photogenic > 6:30 PM: Head down the mountain and ride for 15 minutes to Fish Street. Choose a restaurant that has been open for over 10 years to eat freshly stewed fish head; the soup is so fresh you will want to drink three bowls > After dinner, walk for 10 minutes to explore Qilong Lane, buy local drunken fish as a souvenir, and take a leisurely walk back to the homestay. Day 2 8:30 AM: After breakfast, walk 5 minutes to the Central Lake District Pier > Take the C-line cruise to Meifeng Island, take the cable car to the top for panoramic views of the lake and islands > Stop at Yule Island for simple supplies, but do not buy overpriced snacks > Walk the floating bridge at Moonlight Island to photograph the lake reflections > 1:30 PM: Cruise docks > Take a 20-minute taxi to the Chunyang Line lakeside greenway, sit by the lake for half an hour to enjoy the breeze > 3:00 PM: Take a taxi back to Qiandao Lake Station for your return trip. Essential Tips Every Friday from September to November, admission to the Central Lake District is free. You only need to pay the CNY 65 boat ticket. Book the free boat ticket on the official WeChat account 3 days in advance to save CNY 120. The UV rays on the lake are strong, so wear SPF50+ sunscreen even in autumn. Carry mosquito repellent; the mosquitoes by the lake in autumn are even fiercer than in summer. Take motion sickness medicine half an hour before boarding the island. The cruise ship rocks much more than land, so do not let motion sickness ruin your experience. Do not buy souvenirs at the scenic area entrance. The drunken fish at local supermarkets in Qilong Lane is half the price of those in the scenic area and tastes more authentic.

Who knew! On the cliff top of Qiandao Lake, there's a pure-white mini Santorini tucked away. No passport, no 10+ hour flight—drive from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, or Shanghai and you can stay in a Greek-style island retreat. The guesthouse sits on a cliff in Jinfeng Township, Qiandao Lake, and was designed by a well-known designer team. The pure-white, minimalist buildings follow the slope of the hill, and a sky-blue infinity pool is set right on the cliff edge. Open the window and you get an unobstructed 180° view of the central lake area of Qiandao Lake. 🏊‍♀️ Cliffside infinity pool | The illusion of floating on the lake The pool uses a zero-edge visual design so swimming to the edge creates the illusion of merging directly into Qiandao Lake. By day the water is a clear, healing Tiffany blue, blending with the sky; at dusk the orange-sea sunset sprinkles gold across the lake; at night the warm lights come on and the water reflects the moonlight for another kind of romance. There's also a sunbathing area and an open-air cinema for evenings. 🛏️ Creamy cave-style lake view rooms | Sleep in a landscape painting All 34 rooms are lake view rooms, each with oversized picture windows or a terrace. Floor-to-ceiling glass frames Qiandao Lake inside the room, so you can watch the rippling water and layered distant hills from bed. Some room types have a private bathtub facing the lake so you can soak while admiring the peaks. Rooms are equipped with full smart-home devices and styled in a simple, upscale creamy cave aesthetic for maximum vacation comfort. 🌅 Unmissable sunset moments Be sure to go to the viewing platform at dusk to watch the lake slowly turn golden. When the blue hour lights come on, the atmosphere is instantly elevated. Order a drink at the café, stare out at the lake, and let the scenery wash away your fatigue. 📸 Photo tips · Cliffside infinity pool: shoot the orange-sea sunset from 4–6 PM, and take moody shots after the lights come on at night · Pure-white buildings + arched doorways: any pose looks Santorini-esque · Lake terraces / viewing platform: shoot misty mornings and molten-gold sunsets · Outfit suggestions: light tones, white, or black long dresses photograph well; choose simple, solid-color swimsuits 📋 Practical information Address: No. 3, Jingshan Central Village, Jinfeng Township, Chun'an County, Hangzhou Transport: Driving recommended. From downtown Hangzhou about 2–2.5 hours, from Shanghai about 4.5 hours. Take the high-speed train to Qiandao Lake station, then taxi about 40 minutes Price guide: CNY 1,000–3,000 per night (varies by platform and room type) Good for: couples seeking a romantic escape, friends' getaways, small friend groups Tips: Book lake view rooms in advance—weekends are busy. Bring sunscreen and insect repellent in summer. The guesthouse is pet friendly, and there's a resident border collie in the yard named "Latte" No need to go abroad to get an island-vacation vibe—you can experience it from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, and this place is definitely worth a go🏝️

My biggest impression of Qiandao Lake this time is that it’s not just a spot for checking in and taking photos, but a lakeside resort that truly helps you unwind. The water is crystal clear, and the islands stretch out layer by layer in the distance. On sunny days, it feels like stepping into a green painting. I recommend planning for two days and one night. Trying to see everything in one day feels rushed. Taking it slow is the best way to enjoy Qiandao Lake. The main highlights are: the classic boat tour, which lets you get up close to the islands and the open lake; the lakeside bike path, which is comfortable for riding and stopping along the way; the high viewing platform, a must-visit for a breathtaking panoramic view of Qiandao Lake; the lakeside guesthouse terraces, perfect for relaxing, drinking tea, and watching the sunset; and the island trails, ideal for those who enjoy quiet walks. Overall, the experience was more relaxing than I expected. It’s not just about sightseeing but truly feeling like you’re on vacation. For photo spots, I recommend these places: first, the dock and boat area, which captures the lake and boarding scenes with a strong travel vibe; second, the high viewing platform, where using the railing as a foreground adds depth to the lake view; third, the lakeside bike path, great for natural shots of backs and the road; fourth, the guesthouse terrace, perfect for relaxed vacation-style photos; and fifth, the lakeside bench at dusk, where the sunset light is especially gentle. For outfits, white, beige, light blue, and light green work well with the lake and mountains. Tips to avoid pitfalls are important too: check the weather before you go, as sunny and cloudy days offer very different experiences; confirm boat schedules and attraction opening times in advance to avoid wasted trips; attractions are spread out, so plan transportation and lodging ahead; don’t pack your itinerary too tightly—Qiandao Lake is better enjoyed at a leisurely pace; and bring mosquito repellent since there are many bugs by the lake. Overall, Qiandao Lake is perfect for weekend getaways, couples’ trips, relaxing with friends, and family vacations. Hashtags:

🇨🇳🌊 Shicheng 🏯✨ Have you ever imagined... If one day you dived deep into a lake 💦🤿 And discovered that beneath the surface, there weren't just fish 🐟 But an "entire ancient city" hidden away! 😱🏯 This is Shicheng (Lion City / 狮城), an ancient city in Zhejiang Province, China 🇨🇳✨ A place nicknamed the "Atlantis of China" 🌊🏛️ 🏯 A Thousand-Year-Old City... Lost Underwater Shicheng is an ancient city with a history spanning over 1,000 years 🕰️📜 It was once a vibrant community where people lived, with houses, shops, and traditional Chinese architecture lining the streets 🏮🏘️ But in the mid-20th century, the city faced a major turning point... When the Xin'an River Dam was constructed 💧🏗️ A massive area was transformed into a reservoir, creating Qiandao Lake, also known as Thousand Island Lake 🌊🏝️ And what happened next was... Shicheng was flooded and submerged beneath the lake 😮💨🌊 The entire city became a "time capsule," perfectly preserved underwater 🕰️💙 🤿 Diving In... Finding a City Frozen in Time The most incredible thing is that when you dive into the site of the ancient city 🫧🤿 Divers can encounter city walls 🧱 Stone archways 🏯 Ornate sculptures and carvings 🐉 As well as buildings and structures that remain remarkably intact underwater. The sight feels like traveling back in time ⏳✨ Just imagine... 🌊 Surrounded by deep blue water 🏯 An ancient city gate standing before you 🐉 Ancient Chinese patterns still visible on the stone 🫧 Bubbles rising from your diving mask 🌑 And the silence of the underwater world creating an incredibly mysterious atmosphere. This isn't a scene from a fantasy movie... It’s a real city resting beneath the waves 😳💙 🏝️ Qiandao Lake – The New Home of an Old City Today, this area is known as Qiandao Lake or "Thousand Island Lake" 🌊🏝️ The lake gets its name from the thousands of islands scattered across the water, making it one of China’s most famous natural attractions 🇨🇳✨ On the surface, it looks like a typical crystal-clear blue lake 💙 But few would suspect that... Many meters below the surface lies a hidden ancient city 😱🏯 📸 A Place Straight Out of a Film The charm of Shicheng isn't just its age; it's the rare sense of "mystery" it evokes 🌊🖤 It feels as if time has stopped in this ancient city... No crowds walking the streets 🚶♀️ No sounds of the marketplace 🏮 No traffic 🚗 Only the silent, ancient structures remain beneath the surface 🫧 This makes Shicheng a place that is beautiful, surreal, and intriguing all at once ✨ 💭 A city may vanish from the map... but not from history.
