Hotel Monti Spa & Wellness

Booked the presidential suite for me and my parter for roughly 4/5 times the cost of a standard room. The size of the suite and balcony area was great and definitely had a luxury feel. On looking around we realised the sauna was not working and reception was very friendly and promptly sent somebody up to fix this issue, the room was very hot with the heaters on and the panels in the room not controlling the heat so the first night was a very uncomfortable nights sleep with the upstairs room peaking at 31 degrees in the day. Again the staff were very helpful and basically explained that aircon hadn't been turned on due to the time of year and therefore would send somebody up to turn the heaters off which made it a lot more bearable after some windows being opened. Over the 3 nights we had a few niggles, the balcony had bits of broken wood from the bottom of a chair on arrival, bottles from the previous guests still scattered around and the few cushions that were left out had bird poo on them that was left for us to clean. I understand the location and this may happen during the stay but it should be cleaned before a check in, the hot tub only had about a third of the jets working, the water in the room including the shower was only luke warm for 2 of the 3 days and the bottle opener broken. The room could have been lovely but there were a number of things that were needing attention. The hotel is also next to quad bike tours setting off numerous times a day which was loud.

The hotel feels like something out of a fairy tale — surrounded by majestic pine trees and untouched nature. Its charming appearance takes your breath away. The food is excellent, and the staff are truly outstanding. Special thanks to waitress Zlata, who made our stay unforgettable. Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel special. It’s a perfect place for all ages. We haven’t seen such beautiful nature in a long time, and it inspired us to explore everything around.

Wanted a relaxed getaway, Hotel Monti focuses on promoting their spa services (indoor pool, 5 different saunas etc.) but in reality it’s a terrible experience, they have a day pass for anyone to attend and it is more like a loud, children’s water playground. The facility was overcrowded with unsupervised children (ages 8 to 13), running all over, screaming, jumping into the pool, entering every sauna, no parent or staff member. When I complained I was simply told they charge a day fee for anyone to attend, and there are no lounge chairs for hotel guests as it’s first come best served. The water of the indoor pool was cold, the uncultured behavior of “day pass visitors” simply downgraded the notion of a delux hotel. It’s a shame as it is a beautiful hotel in absolutely beautiful mountain setting. The rooms are perfect and the staff are great, but greedy management needs to take a hard look at their false advertising of “spa services for guests”, it’s a public indoor pool with NO rules!

This was our first time to Bosnia. We were recommended this hotel by a family friend. The staff were all very friendly and accommadating. Mustafa, Selma & Tariq and the rest of the staff were lovely. Great location to driving into Sarajevo and also to enjoy the wilderness and hikes. Will come again!

Our second time here. Beautiful surroundings. Great, friendly staff. The whole complex is very clean. The room is as comfortable as any we’ve stayed in around the world. Speaking of which, the breakfast is world class. However, what happened the afternoon we arrived was disappointing, disgusting, and simply baffling. And insulting. We arrived around 4:00 pm (16;00). We ordered the Bruschetta. The menu described their unique way of preparing it: Eggplant, feta cheese, and a couple of other typical items on French Baguette. You know, probably one of the most recognizable menu items in the world. What arrived was thin white sliced bread—toasted—with what can only be described as wet cat food. I let the server know that not a single ingredient from the menu was on the plate. She told us that the kitchen was out of ALL of the ingredients for the Bruschetta. So what the geniuses in kitchen basically decided to do was blend together a bunch of stuff they DID have into a grey-colored slop and put it on toast and then actually serve it, imagining that their paying clientele were too stupid to notice or care. Unbelievable. I have let bad restaurant experiences go without complaining as many of us have, but this was so utterly lazy and so stupid that I do feel someone should lose a job. The server was gracious, and apologized. I think that she knew serving it was the wrong thing to do, but she was forced to do it. What they did to her was worse than what was done to us.
