Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona

Mandarin Oriental's service is indeed top-notch. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a welcome gift, even for the most basic stay, as the platform had indicated it wasn't possible. The hotel's location is also excellent, right across from a luxury shopping street with plenty of dining options, and a moderate distance from the main attractions.

My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona far exceeded my expectations. The entire hotel boasts an elegant and grand design, with serene and relaxing spaces. The moment I stepped into my room, the weariness of travel melted away, replaced by a sense of ease and a warm, home-like atmosphere. I'd especially like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our butler, Emma Sun. Her attentive and prompt service throughout our stay was outstanding. She meticulously anticipated our needs, demonstrating professionalism and a genuine warmth, striking the perfect balance in her approach. This made our international trip feel incredibly comforting. The facilities are exquisitely crafted, and the design of the public areas is aesthetically pleasing. From the room layout to the outdoor terrace space, everything was delightful. The excellent location offers convenient access, making it the top choice for a luxurious stay when visiting Barcelona. I look forward to returning!

Must-Stay: Mandarin Oriental Barcelona 🏦 – The Real-Life Spanish 'Money Heist' Bank! 🏨 Located on Barcelona's famous Passeig de Gràcia, this hotel is right next to Gaudí's stunning Casa Batlló with its magnificent facade. Housed in an elegant mid-20th-century building, it was re-imagined by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, boasting a thoroughly modern interior that still retains the distinctive Mandarin Oriental charm. .🏦 Formerly a bank, it incorporates many elements from its past. For instance, a wall in the Banker's Bar was once part of the bank, serving as a safe deposit box area. Even more unique, their menus are presented in metal boxes like banknotes, giving it a real 'Money Heist' vibe, Barcelona style! It also doubles as a lounge for early arrivals, where you can even enjoy breakfast if it's already open. Because it was once a bank, all rooms offer a sense of security, privacy, and tranquility. Even facing the street, it becomes incredibly quiet after dark. The restaurant, lounge, and bar are all contemporary spaces, reflecting the city's artistic spirit and attitude. An absolutely superb check-in experience and service quality.

Excellent location, right across from Casa Batlló and within walking distance to Casa Milà. Great for shopping and dining. The room was spacious and comfortable with all the essentials. The pool was a bit small, and I didn't try the breakfast. No complaints really, other than the price...

The location is super central, making it very convenient for shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

Aside from the helpful Chinese-speaking lady at the front desk on the first day, the service here is far below the average Mandarin Oriental standard and generally quite indifferent.

This hotel is absolutely worth staying at. Over our 8-day, 7-night stay, we deeply appreciated the warm and enthusiastic service from the Mandarin Oriental staff. The room was clean and well-arranged, and the hotel breakfast was fantastic. It was our first time trying Iberian ham, paired with fresh, tender greens – a truly delicious combination (that's how my husband and I enjoyed it!). Furthermore, many of the Asian dishes we ordered were quite authentic. We especially want to thank Ana for the fruit platter and the two boxes of exquisite chocolates as a parting gift, and also room service for sending us a beautiful paper-folded flower.

Great location and highly recommend the breakfast. However, being in the old town, the room types are quite standard, and the rooftop pool wasn't open. Service was excellent, especially a shout-out to Danny from Chinese heritage.
