Istoria Hotel

We have just returned from an unforgettable stay at Istoria Hotel while celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, and we cannot thank the team enough for making it so special. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was warm, welcoming and genuinely caring. The hospitality here is exceptional, and you are made to feel less like a guest and more like part of the family. A special thank you to Vasilios, who went above and beyond to personally meet guests and ensure everyone was happy throughout their stay. His passion for the hotel shines through, and he has created a wonderful team that delivers outstanding service. Our room was bright, spotless and beautifully maintained, providing the perfect place to relax. The beach is calm and peaceful, with attentive beach staff who were always on hand without ever being intrusive. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with a delicious selection that gave us the perfect start to every day. Thank you, Vasilios, and the entire Istoria team, for looking after us so beautifully during such an important milestone in our lives. You have helped create memories that will stay with us forever, and we cannot wait to return.

We stayed at the Cliffs Istoria in Santorini for 2 nights. The room was spacious and cool. It was comfortable, always clean, and water was restocked daily or upon request. The view from the room is breathtaking and we experienced the most amazing sunsets. The personal hot tub was a definite bonus! Breakfast was delivered each morning to our outdoor eating area, but you could choose to eat breakfast at the restaurant area. The food was fresh and delicious. We also had the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing visit to the beach at the other Istoria location. We were greeted with smiles and great service when ordering a late lunch. Christina and her team are so attentive and kind. She was able to adjust our checkout to accommodate a later flight departure time back to Athens. We were grateful for the flexibility. We recommend booking a stay at the Cliffs Istoria and would be happy to visit again in the future.

Everything was excellent: the hotel is beautiful, the service impeccable, and the staff extremely kind and helpful. The only aspect that, in my opinion, could be improved is the dining experience, which could offer a little more variety and attention to detail. Overall, however, it was a very positive experience.

We stayed 2 nights at Istoria and had a pretty mixed experiance. Our first night was at the Cliffside property and, honestly, we were quite dissapointed. The area felt very touristy and the service just wasn’t at the same level we were expecting. It also felt like the property was still working out a few of the kinks since it had only been open a few months. Looking back, I wish we had skipped the Cliffside altogether. For our second night we moved over to the Beachside property and it was a completly different experience. This is the one that truly deserves the Michelin Key. The atmosphere was calm, the property is beautifull, and the management team was excellent. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The second night really made up for the first, and we left with a much better impression of Istoria. If you’re deciding between the two, I would absolutely recommend staying on the Beachside.

The Istoria is a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Perivolos Beach - on the gorgeous black sand beach. Stunning views, great beachside restaurants, and lovely people. If you have time in Santorini, stay one or two nights in Oia or Immerovigli, then the rest of your time on the beach in Perivolos. And the Istoria is the best there.

My wife and I came for a cocktail by the pool of Istoria, and ended up staying the afternoon drinking and conversing with Stelios, the great bartender of Istoria. Simply by talking he was able to know which drinks were made for us. I want to come back to Istoria just to catch up with Stelios and drink until sunset. He made our stay remarkable. Best experience I’ve had staying at a hotel, period. The staff was incredibly kind, generous, and very accommodating. After spending time in Oia and Fira, I would not stay anywhere else in Santorini except Istoria. Exceptional all around.

My wife and I shared three incredible days at the Istoria Hotel on Santorini in September 2025. There is a lot of hype about Oia and Fira but you can take a car/taxi to visit those places which we found to be very touristy and crowded. The Istoria Hotel is in a much more peaceful location and Perivolos Beach is literally steps away (the pool is even closer if that's your preference). If you are looking for a relaxing place at a hotel that will assist you with anything you need, the Istoria Hotel is the place for you. The room had all the amenities we needed. The staff is what stands out the most. They were not only accommodating but we really did feel like family by the time we left. There were plenty of hugs on the last day. From the front desk, to the dining, to the bar - all the staff were amazing. With only 12 rooms, there is plenty of time for them to pamper you with attention. Radula and the rest of the wait staff really stood out for their friendliness and service. Stelios at the bar was also a standout for his friendly banter and excellent drinks. He also gave us an excellent dinner recommendation - Rosemary in Pyrgos. Wonderful sunset without all the people in Oia! We can't say enough about all of them - we wanted to stay another week! We would recommend staying here and doing day trips to other places around the island. We stayed for three days and had no problem getting to them all but had nice quiet relaxation when we were at the hotel.
