Dengfeng Qingjing Lanshan Courtyard

Despite the busy street outside, the courtyard is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The room was very comfortable, though it did get a bit chilly in the latter half of the night. The staff were beautiful and gentle; they came to pick us up from the parking lot and drove us back. Both the young ladies and the older women were incredibly helpful with our luggage. When I needed help with something in the evening, the male staff member responded immediately – excellent! If I'm not in a hurry, with the blue skies and green trees, and all the warm-hearted staff, I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Shaxi Ancient Town.

The location is excellent, just a short walk to all the main attractions. The inner courtyard is spacious, elegant, and peaceful. The bed in the room was very comfortable, and the toiletries provided were comprehensive and of good quality. For breakfast, there are three set menus to choose from each day. As someone from Chaoshan, I was delighted to see congee included in one of the options. The owner asks you which set menu you'd like the day before, and you just tell the kitchen staff before you eat, and it's served hot. There's also afternoon tea and hot milk before bed. Since the old town has cobblestone streets, the owner even came to the parking lot to help with our luggage, which shows truly thoughtful service.

The room facilities are complete; while not new, they blend in perfectly with the ancient town. The service is warm and friendly. It's a small but lovely guesthouse. Double courtyard afternoon tea: Sitting by the street, watching people come and go, chatting and talking – what a delightful experience!

The B&B is located inside the ancient town. They thoughtfully picked us up at the parking lot and helped with our luggage. I have to say, staying within the ancient town in Shaxi makes for a completely different and incredibly peaceful and healing experience. While the B&B's facilities are a bit older and rustic due to its age, the amenities are absolutely top-notch. They use Kleenex facial tissues, Dyson hair dryers, and Kao hand soap and underwear detergent, and the toiletries smell lovely. The value for money here is outstanding! The breakfast is a customizable set meal, freshly prepared by the owner. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented – easily the best breakfast we had on this trip to Yunnan! We checked in the evening before, and the next afternoon, the B&B even treated us to afternoon tea and a 'Jiama' (traditional paper horse) experience. The owner also gave us an extra print, making for a truly fulfilling and satisfying end to our trip. Shaxi is beautiful, and I'd definitely stay here again next time! P.S. When we were looking for it during the day, we realized the B&B's entrance is right where Granny Xie set up her stall in the show! We immediately went and took some pictures, haha.

This hotel, converted from a traditional residence, boasts impeccable room decor and facilities. The garden view is beautiful, and its central location in the ancient town makes it convenient to go anywhere. The overall service is excellent; they help with luggage, offer hot milk in the evenings, and the breakfast is exquisite and delicious. All in all, the experience was fantastic. Objectively speaking, the only issue is the sound insulation of the courtyard and rooms, which is due to the nature of traditional architecture. You can hear noise if people are being loud at night, but if you mention it to the owner, they will intervene, so it's still a great experience! I highly recommend everyone to stay here, and I'll choose it again next time I visit Shaxi!
