North Shire Lodge

Absolutely a hidden gem in Manchester!!! Cute, Cozy Room, beautiful Views, Clean, and the most delicious breakfast! Cannot say enough about this wonderful family owed lodge!

We recently spent 3 nights st our favorite Manchester hotel. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. Being on the foothills of Mount Equinox. the views from the rooms are beautiful. Brad and Stacy are the perfect host and hostess and have lots of suggestions for spending time in the Manchester area. Each morning a home-cooked breakfast is served which is a great way to start the day. There are so many places to visit and things to do in the Manchester area; North Shire Lodge is the perfect place to stay.

We stayed 3 nights at the lodge. The owners were so amazing and gave us great tips on where to eat and what to do. The hot breakfast every morning was so yummy. It was fun to meet other guest at breakfast and chat about their adventures. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were very clean. The Mountain View’s from our deck was spectacular! The Lodge is so close to everything in Manchester. We will definitely go back!

An overnight stay at the North Shire Lodge was a great experience. The location on rte 7 was perfect to get to Manchester and still enjoy a rural atmosphere.. The room was very cozy and had all the amenities that we needed. And of course the breakfast the next morning was outstanding! Highly recommend a stay!

My last stay at the North Shire was in 2008……..and when I knew I was headed to Manchester again, I checked the ratings to see if the North Shire was still receiving rave reviews. It was. And now I will add my 2026 kudos. Stacie and Brad are now the owners and they are doing a fantastic job. Stacie greeted us as old friends when we checked in and then cooked truly wonderful breakfasts, and joined Brad as he welcomed guests and assisted in serving. Both took an avid interest in guests who wanted to chat and respectfully allowed others their peace. The rooms are very comfortable, and we were lucky enough to spend both nights with our deck door wide open for fresh air. This is an old style yet modern hotel, just minutes south of Manchester. As I told Stacie, I won’t let another 18 years go by before returning!

The setting was the clinching factor for selecting North Shire Lodge. Elevated with beautiful vistas of the mountains. Also a nice ride from Southern CT without interstate hwys. The Lodge is tasteful appointed with local character. The host / owners are friendly, genuine and happy to assist. Late May was a perfect time for me to visit. Cool to warm temps, and relatively quiet time in the area post ski season and pre summer tourism. The price was certainly fair and reasonable. Simply a wonderful country lodge, and I look forward to returning. Oh, the breakfasts were made carefully and expertly for each individual. Perfect.

Such a friendly staff and a lovely view. We enjoy the intimacy of the lodge and plan to return, naturally. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

I did a lot of research before making a decision on where to stay in southern Vermont, and we were not disappointed. North Shire features large, clean rooms with cathedral ceilings, very comfortable beds, strong shower, each room has its own deck outside sliding glass doors, A/C, all the amenities, excellent homemade breakfasts, privacy, wonderful mountain view, well-kept property outside of town, friendly, serving hosts, all with a very Vermonty touch of class, and close to lovely Manchester with all its superb restaurants, ski areas, and the Lincoln family's Hildene estate. It was just perfect!

This is a well-kept, comfortable and quiet B&B inn just on the edge of Manchester which is a fabulous vacation town for dining, shopping, and exploring VT history. The owners keep the place in great shape, cook well and are super friendly to the guests. In the winter there are at least five major ski resorts located within a reasonable scenic driving distance, making this inn an ideal base if you want to explore multiple mountain resorts on the same trip. We will definitely return again next year for another visit.
