The Louise, Beckons

The welcome we received was good and staff up out of the way to learn your names and gave a chat with you. The suites are a good size and have everything you need, the mini bar and wine which is included in your room rate is a nice touch. The menu with wine flite is a real treat and they do cater for special dietary requirements The location overlooking vines and fields is simply the best Our only slight observation is they are not really equipped for lake check outs and the only shower available is in the sauna and then we had to ask for products Note there is no longer a guest laundry

Our 2 night stay at The Louise was great! We enjoyed the use of the sauna and the pool after we arrived. The degustation menu and matching wines on both evenings were amazing! The waitress that looked after us was so lovely and knew all about the wines that were served. The flavours and presentation of the different courses was a credit to the chef. We ate out for lunch on one of the days and the food did not compare to what was served at The Louise! The rooms are comfortable and the drinks and food provided in the mini bar including the wines and port were an extra touch and were enjoyed as we sat and looked across the nearby vineyards! We have stayed at other Beckons properties and have found them to be such a great base to enjoy the regions they are located in and for all the quality food and drink they select for their guests!

From the moment we arrived at The Louise until the time we reluctantly departed, every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. The room was absolutely beautiful, with the warmth and comfort of our own private home while still feeling incredibly luxurious. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the facilities were outstanding, including the pool, gym and sauna. Although it was too cold to enjoy the pool during our July stay, it looked stunning. The all-inclusive experience is one of The Louise’s greatest strengths. Having pre-dinner drinks and canapés, an exceptional breakfast and dinner, plus a well-stocked complimentary minibar, meant we could simply relax and enjoy ourselves without having to think about what came next. The food throughout our stay was phenomenal. What truly sets The Louise apart, however, is the people. Darcy, Ian and Matilda, in particular, made our stay so memorable. Their genuine warmth, professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional, and nothing was ever too much trouble. I also celebrated my birthday on our second night, and everyone went above and beyond to make it feel incredibly special. It was a celebration I’ll never forget. The Louise offers the complete luxury experience—from the moment you drive through the gates until the moment you leave. The beautiful surroundings, refined atmosphere, impeccable service and perfect location all combine to create something truly special. My partner and I had the most amazing stay and left wishing we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back.

The location is beautiful and rooms are large (and accessible room is excellent if you have a disability). But restaurant was disappointing. Limited selection and food too fussy. Service was uneven. Advertised as luxury property but did not feel like it. New management was very responsive to my group’s feedback so it may improve.

We really enjoyed our 3 day visit, and can’t say enough about the wait staff, in particular (food and wine weren’t too shabby either), though I can’t quite give The Louise a 5th star as the facility itself is a little dated/worn. Still very pretty, in the midst of beautiful vineyards, with generously sized suites, but the resort will likely need updating before long (starting with the tiny “fitness center” and laundry room near the pool).

This boutique property is outstanding and is an oasis in the Barossa Valley. Very high level service, good rooms, and excellent food.
