I spent a lot of time researching which section of the Great Wall to visit, and I'm really glad I chose Jinshanling! This place is absolutely gorgeous, and there were hardly any people.We took the route starting at the East Five-Window Tower and finished at Zhuanduokou Pass. The hike took us about 3 hours. Some of the steps, especially in the unrestored section closer to the East Five-Window Tower, are quite challenging, so make sure to wear proper hiking shoes!We didn't take the cable car, so I can't comment on that, but it's available if you want to save some energy. You can easily customise your route to make the hike less physically demanding by skipping the unrestored section.Overall, I highly recommend the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall! It's a fantastic place to visit, especially if you want to enjoy the scenery without large crowds.
