We visited several beach areas during our trip to Sanya, and Yalong Bay became one of the places I really enjoyed for swimming. The beach is long and wide, with soft sand, green mountains around the bay and beautiful views in almost every direction. During our visit, the sea was very warm and the water was clear — exactly what I wanted from a beach day in Hainan. But the best part was discovering a quieter section away from the more popular areas. 🌊 MORE FREEDOM TO SWIM Something worth knowing about Sanya is that swimming rules can vary between beaches and even between different sections of the same beach. At Dadonghai, during our visit, swimming was quite strictly controlled and people were expected to stay within designated swimming areas. At Yalong Bay, we found a section where we could swim more freely instead of staying inside a small enclosed zone. For us, this made the experience much more enjoyable. Of course, sea conditions and restrictions can change, so always check the signs and follow lifeguard instructions when you visit. 💙 HOW TO FIND THE QUIETER PART This is probably my most useful tip for Yalong Bay. If you’re standing facing the Sanya monument/stele by the roundabout, go left. Continue until you pass the diving center, then follow the path running alongside the green landscaped area. Keep walking a little farther and you’ll eventually come out onto a section of beach with blue umbrellas. That’s where we decided to stay. The route is easy to remember: Sanya stele → left → diving center → path along the green area → blue umbrellas. It was absolutely worth walking a little farther instead of settling at the first part of the beach we reached. 🚿 WHAT’S THERE? Despite being quieter, this section had everything we needed for a comfortable beach day. There was a shower and changing room, a café nearby, and a small number of sun loungers. During our visit, the loungers were free. Most importantly, there were very few people. We had plenty of space on the sand and could actually relax and enjoy the sea without feeling crowded. 🏖️ MY TIP FOR YALONG BAY Don’t judge Yalong Bay by the first section you see. It’s a long beach, and walking a little farther can completely change the experience. If you prefer fewer people and more space for swimming, exploring beyond the busiest areas is worth the extra walk. For us, the combination of very warm clear water, a wide sandy beach, beautiful mountain views and a quiet spot with basic facilities worked perfectly. If I return to Yalong Bay, I won’t need to search for a place to settle.  First time bringing the kids to Sanya, I went through tons of guides and finally settled on Yuanshengyuan Homestay in Bohou Village. I was really worried about a bad experience! But the stay turned out to be such a wonderful surprise 🎊~ Close to the sea 🌊, traveling with kids is really worry-free ✨   The homestay environment 🌿 is especially comfortable, the rooms are clean and odor-free, the bedding is soft and super cozy, overall quiet and peaceful, perfect for kids to rest well. There’s a swimming pool 🏊‍♀️ in the yard with clean water, so kids can freely play in the water without having to squeeze into the beach every day, making the vacation vibe perfect 🎊   What I liked most was the location! About a 15-minute ride on a small electric scooter 🛵 to the beach 🏖️!   No worries about food and drinks! There’s a night market 🍝🍱🍔, various restaurants, and a supermarket around the homestay, super convenient~   This was my first time coming to Sanya with kids and staying here, and I really made the right choice. It’s worry-free and comfortable, sincerely recommended for families traveling to Sanya with children!
