Photography is prohibited inside the caves; you can only appreciate the artistic achievements of the ancients with your own eyes. Advance reservations are required. You'll first watch a digital film before taking a shuttle bus to the cave area. During peak season, the visit can be quite rushed due to the large number of visitors. A World Heritage Site with immense cultural value, a visit to this historical treasure in the desert is a must when traveling the Hexi Corridor.
