Summer Bay Resort, Lang Tengah Island

Our time at Summerbay Resort was really pleasant. Very friendly staff and very good service. The deluxe pool view room was clean and had good amenities and a nice view of the pool. At no point did it feel like this trip was not worth it. The beach in front of the hotel is wel maintained with plenty of baby black tip reef sharks to see while snorkeling. The included breakfast was good, with good food and plenty of seating. For dinner though I would advise to go to Seaview cafe. The dinners and the quality of the food are amazing. Special shoutout to chef Chris for cooking delicious dinners 10/10! We're writing this review as European guest. Communicating in English was not a hassle at all.

Rooms were clean and cool Pool appeared clean and cool also Chris the chef was great at addressing our dietary requirements for one of our travellers Overall the food on offer was perhaps below expectations for this level of hotel - breakfast buffet lacked adequate fresh fruit variety and western options House reef out the front is poor quality and hotel could improve aesthetics by fencing off unused areas and tidying up the beach beyond directly in front of the hotel. As the clear lead on this tiny gem of an island it would be great to see the resort take a lead in environmental enhancements, consider sponsorship for the small turtle conservation NGO located on the island and consider supporting a significant clean up of the main beach and surrounds. Ferry transfers were seamless and staff were all helpful.

Just came back from Summer Bay Resort, Lang Tengah Island and it was such a beautiful experience. The resort feels “more private” and less crowded compared to others, which made the whole stay very peaceful and relaxing. And I love the resort for this ! The food was great , a good variety, generous portions, and I especially enjoyed the Malaysian traditional kuih-muih. Rooms were clean and well maintained and even the activity gears were properly taken care of which made everything feel safe and organised. The instructors were professional and patient, so even beginners will feel comfortable. Overall, I genuinely felt well taken care of throughout the trip. It’s a perfect place to slow down, recharge, and enjoy the moment. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quieter, more relaxing island getaway.

A perfect beach resort for a relaxing getaway.

I have a great time at summerbay resort . the premium room is very confortable . the water here is crystal clear and awesome scene. the staff here very helpful. I come here alone for a relaxing trip . feeling happy and cheer . will plan to come back agin with friend and family for next year trip

The reservation team were very good and helpful but once you get to the hotel, they are not geared to western guests. I usually only write a review if I have 5 stars to share but this was so dismal and it just does not cater for much outside Chinese tourism. Having travelled Malaysia extensively, Many other Malaysia establishments are far better suited. The location and island are lovely & beautiful but we should have done more homework. Yes it’s fun trying local food, but after a number of days canteen quality food gets a bit much. At breakfast the host keeps letting people in despite being no space so it’s very overcrowded. Dirty used plates are left on tables for ages across all eating locations throughout the day. Tables are not cleaned - they’re sticky every time. It’s quite gross. The staff struggle with English - and don’t try to listen to help. Despite certain arrangements being made at time of reservation and noted on our reservation - it’s like a bulk drive through here of people and the staff don’t check. Causes mass confusion. There’s very little control. Adults & kids screaming in the pool area (which all rooms look onto) until midnight. It’s a real pity as the location is very nice. The dive team were good (Sean, Je, Kai) and we really enjoyed that, but the rest of the place I would avoid and consider other beautiful Malaysian locations.
