Stayed a night at this hotel before pushing off for Perhentian. Jetty is barely 5min drive away. Did not try the breakfast, chose some local fare along the main road which was 10min walk. Parking is plenty and guarded at night. Staff Atiq was very welcoming and attentive which made the stay even more pleasant.

I booked two rooms, but a day before our trip, a relative fell ill and couldn't make it. The hotel refused to cancel our reservation, but I appreciate Trip.com's customer service for doing their best to negotiate. The single room had three windows with a sea view, but the double room's window faced a wall with no view. The restaurant food was expensive and terrible. I wonder if they changed chefs; it completely ruined the good memories I had from last year.

Previously, I've stayed here and were really dissapointed by the cleanliness of the room. This stay really makes up for it. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean (which is my major concern previously), and all the services provided really meet the marriot's name expectation. The breakfast buffet have ample enough choices ranging from local to western cuisines. Taste could be improved though. I could not really enjoy my breakfast though as the manager (I think), have this really sharp gaze that makes me think Im doing something wrong and as the place was quite small, I can feel the gaze like analyzing the whole crowd eating. It was definitely an uncomfortable experience. Maybe that part can also be improved.

I booked this hotel purely for the convenience of getting to Perhentian Island Marriott, so I wouldn't have to rush for the boat the next morning. Other than that, it's just a basic budget hotel, nothing special. I took a taxi to 88 Lucky restaurant, the food was good, and they accept Alipay. There's a 7-Eleven next to the restaurant, which is handy for stocking up before heading to the island.

Good location. Just across the river. A nice stop between Kota Bahru and Kuala Trengganu. The nearby 8 Dome Mosque and the Pantai Bukit Keluang beach is a must go! They should add washing machines as part of their facility.
