Zannier Phum Baitang

The hotel where superstar Angelina Jolie stayed. My first time staying at such a unique property. It's about a 15-minute drive from the city center, nestled amidst vast fields. I fell asleep to the sound of crickets at night and woke up to birdsong in the morning. Although the exterior looks a bit like a rustic farmhouse, it is a glamping resort after all. The interior design is fantastic—clean, minimalist, and comfortable. The service is also quite impressive. There was a welcome gift upon check-in, the minibar was entirely free, and delicious specialty snacks were provided during turndown service every evening. The breakfast and dinner served at the hotel's Bay Phsar were good, too, and suited the Chinese palate very well. The swimming pool is large enough—two thumbs up!

The front desk service was quite mediocre, and their attitude was just okay. The room staff, however, were decent. The hotel has a very natural, rustic feel, and the rooms aren't particularly large.

We were so glad we booked three nights at Phum Baitang in Siem Reap. It was pouring rain the night we arrived, but the moment our butler opened the path to the rice fields with an umbrella, I was absolutely stunned. It was like a path dotted with stars, flanked by rice paddies echoing with croaking frogs, and the rain pattered on the umbrella. I honestly felt it was the most romantic moment I'd experienced in years. We booked the Terrace Villa, and the attention to detail was superb; the wood felt incredibly tactile. The bathroom was huge, and the window behind the bathtub looked out onto a bamboo forest – absolutely beautiful. The mini-bar was well-stocked, and the welcome snacks were delicious. The hotel breakfast was exquisite; I thought it was better than many restaurants outside. The large outdoor pool next to the restaurant is also worth mentioning; our night swim there was incredibly pleasant. On the morning we left, there was a sudden sunrise. I didn't have time to go to Angkor Wat, but watching a 'replacement' sunrise by the hotel pool was also incredibly beautiful.

I absolutely loved my experience at Zannier. It's located in a rice paddy area on the outskirts of Siem Reap, and each room is a detached villa, offering expansive views. The butler provided very attentive service without being intrusive. The restaurant is right next to the pool, where you can leisurely enjoy local Khmer food. At night, you'll hear loud frog croaking; this return to rural life is a truly rare treat.

For such a high-end hotel, the breakfast was surprisingly simple and lacked variety. It was the same spread every single day!

Excellent! The environment and facilities are superb, clearly showing meticulous design and maintenance. The dinner at the restaurant was also delicious.
