Seongsan Marina Hotel

Manage your expectations, and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Seongsan-eup is a quiet, sparsely populated coastal town. The views of the mountains and sea from Seongsan Ilchulbong to Seopjikoji are top-tier globally. The hotel's location is superb, with spacious rooms offering expansive sea views, perfect for unwinding. Right across the street is the old town's Five-Day Market, great for exploring a local farmers' market. A seaside Starbucks is 800 meters away, and Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is a walkable 5 kilometers. Dining here was full of pleasant surprises; you don't need online guides. Just randomly pick a small shop on the street, and it's hard to go wrong. The restaurant 20 meters to the right (pictured as number four) serves excellent grilled and braised hairtail, sea urchin soup, and black pork. The proprietress is welcoming, and the 85,000 KRW set menu offers great value for money. The noodle shop 100 meters to the left has exquisite and generous portions of pork cutlet rice and udon. The owner speaks fluent English, and the interior decor is tastefully done. The hotel service was satisfactory and reliable. We informed them in advance that for multiple nights, we only needed trash emptied and no room cleaning. A highlight was their help in arranging a chartered car for departure at 100,000 KRW/day for a 7-seater jumbo, which was significantly less than the 180,000 KRW quote on Ctrip for the same day. Our room had a terrace, but it lacked a canopy, limiting its practicality in the summer. Overall, for a trip to the eastern part of Jeju, this is an excellent choice for accommodation. If you're exploring eastern Jeju, I recommend cycling or walking – take your time and slow down.

The hotel location is great, right in the Seongsan area, making it very convenient to visit places like Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and Udo Island. The room was very spacious, and parking was easy. You can even enjoy direct views of Ilchulbong Peak from the rooftop. There's a convenience store and a cafe downstairs. Breakfast is 16,500 KRW, which is pretty standard.

The location of the accommodation was excellent, very close to the market and food stalls. However, after staying for 2 nights, they only changed the towels during cleaning but didn't change the bed linen. The floor and living room table weren't cleaned either. Despite that, the good location makes it acceptable. It was also nice that it was spacious.

Staying at this hotel really made me feel like I was in Jeju (we could see horses from our bed!). There was plenty of parking available even late at night. There are many local restaurants around the hotel with reasonable prices. We even got a 7,000 won discount on takeout chicken from a nearby chain because it was the World Cup season. It's about a 30-minute walk to the Seongsan Ilchulbong ticket office. The room was more spacious than I expected. With YouTube, Netflix, and Disney+ all available, there was plenty to watch in the room, so we never got bored. All the staff, from the front desk to room cleaning and the breakfast buffet restaurant, were friendly. The hotel breakfast was very satisfying for the price. Fresh vegetables and delicious fruits were generously and neatly provided daily. I was worried about the hot water schedule notice, but warm water was always available, so there were no inconveniences. The shower stall was larger than average, which was great. For consecutive nights, we received 3 bottles of water and fresh towels daily, and the trash was emptied. It's self-check-in/check-out, but there's always staff at the front desk right next to it, so you can get help anytime. There were guests in the next room, but the soundproofing was good, and we weren't disturbed. There's a bakery called 'Jeil Seongsimdang' near the hotel with a wide variety of delicious bread. I wish I had a bakery like that where I live. I highly recommend checking it out. While the hotel is far from Jungmun and the airport, and it doesn't have a sophisticated exterior or luxurious feel, it offers excellent value for both money and satisfaction. We booked with breakfast included, and for this price and service, there's absolutely nothing to complain about. If I have the chance, I would 100% stay here again. Thanks to this stay, I had a satisfying trip and now dream of returning to Jeju.

I stayed in the room right next to the elevator on the 8th floor. What was that strange stain on the headboard cushion? I really wanted to lean back and watch TV comfortably, but it felt so unsanitary that I couldn't. On the bright side, I got a discount at a nearby black pork restaurant, which was nice.

Fantastic!!!! Incredibly clean! How does Xiao Han manage to keep it so spotless, not a speck of dust anywhere!!! It was such a comfortable stay!!! There's also a separate area just for blow-drying hair, and the large floor-to-ceiling window offers a great view! The soundproofing is excellent too, not noisy at all, very quiet! There are two beds, and each one is larger than what you'd typically find in most twin rooms in China – skinny people could even share one comfortably! The towels were also super clean, like genuinely clean!!! I don't know how to describe it, but they didn't have that pungent bleach smell! You could tell they'd been properly washed! The wardrobe by the entrance has a huge full-length mirror, perfect for photos! Right by the hotel's intersection, there's a bakery run by an uncle, and their donuts are absolutely delicious!!! They taste just like the ones I had in the UK, oh my! They melt in your mouth and aren't overly sweet at all, I miss them! The orange juice is also super tasty! But the uncle doesn't speak English or Chinese, so if you want to try it, show him a translation or just show him the photo of the orange juice I've uploaded below~ And there's a BBQ restaurant nearby! It's sooooo good and really affordable! Four of us ate a ton and it only cost just over 200 RMB! I forgot the name, but it gets packed at night, so you can't miss it. The Korean ladies working there are super nice! They speak so cutely!!!! They even helped us grill our meat!!!! I forgot to take a picture with her! Definitely have to next time! All in all, this hotel is truly excellent! The surrounding area is really convenient too!!!! And the Korean grandpa at the CU convenience store by the roundabout is also super nice!!! He helped us cook instant noodles, made tteokbokki for us, and even helped us dispose of our trash 😭😭😭 (Even though he looks a bit fierce and seems a bit impatient, hahahahaha😂, he's genuinely a very good person!!!!)
