World Mystery Town

The World Mystery Town is located along National Highway 217 from Karamay to Burqin in Xinjiang, approx. 106 km from downtown Karamay. Visitors traveling along the northern Xinjiang loop route usually pass by here. The World Mystery Town features typical yardang landforms, with massive stone pillars of various shapes standing side by side on the Gobi desert, creating a spectacular and majestic sight.

World mystery town is located at a wind gap, also known as "wind city". Strong winds often howl between the stone pillars, resembling ghostly wails, creating a uniquely terrifying experience, which is how it got its name.Devil cityIt was rated as one of China's most beautiful yardang landforms by the National Geographic magazine in 2005. It's worth a visit if you're passing by.

The attraction covers a vast area, requiring visitors to purchase shuttle tickets for touring. The shuttle here is a mini train, typically departing every 15 minutes, with longer wait times during low visitor periods. Visitors can enjoy scenic views from the mini train, which stops at several observation decks for photo opportunities. The train usually stays at each stop for a while, allowing visitors to take photos before continuing the journey. Those with ample time can wait for the next train to explore further. With these intermittent stops, a full tour takes approximately 2 hours.
