Stillwater Seven

We really enjoyed our stay here despite it being a bit quirky. Good points are it was a very comfy bed (my No.1 wish in hotels), lots of pillows to choose from, great tea & fresh milk (excellent!) were provided in-room & a nice bathroom robe is there to use. All the staff were amazingly professional and helpful - some of the best I've ever dealt with and the in-house restaurant was superb. The quirky points I think are because design has been prioritised over function. The bathroom lighting is too moody & poor to be useful (especially for makeup), the counter top basin is too high, the shower has no door so it's cold to use, there isn't a lot of robe space & no drawers or shelves (so you have to leave a lot in your suitcase) and the safe is not big enough for a laptop. Despite these points, I'd stay there again. Avoid room 5 because it has an open bathroom.

What a wonderful place! Before I checked in the top tier service was provided by their charming and gracious staff. They absolutely have thought of everything. The location of the hotel is perfect! The view from our room was so picturesque, the photos do not capture the beauty. You will have a great nights sleep and the breakfast they provide in room was spectacular. The staff, the layout of the rooms are extremely well done. We loved every second of our stay, and highly recommend having a meal there as well! We booked in advance, this hotel and restaurant make Launceston a must stop in Tasmania

Excellent location with stunning views over the river. Staff were welcoming and attentive and extremely helpful. The service was amazing. The room was beautifully appointed and clean and comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was exceptional. We had an amazing stay and thoroughly enjoyed out time at Stillwater.

quirky spot as a converted mill with just 7 rooms and a fantastic restaurant downstairs. super helpful staff (even asking in advance what type of milk we preferred) in advance of and during our stay. breakfast was in our mini fridge and included juices and yogurt and fresh croissants delivered at 8:30. they left us some delish olives and wonderful gf bread as a snack and offered more of it as toast for breakfast. super comfy bed and nice view of the water. loved the honor bar and great location for walking to the gorge and town. lunch was really delish and the fish was so good we had it for dinner too. lunch and dinner menu totally different so easy to keep enjoying meals there. fantastic wine list skillfully dissected by Anna at dinner and appreciate the attention and suggestions from Taylor and Raphael. Portions are generous and we were full with the 2 courses, the delish bread probably helped. Loved it all and would go back!

The location, the accommodation, the food and the people were all super special. I had the best few days of rest and relaxation - perfect for a solo reset - made even more special because I could bring my best 4 legged friend Frank. Stillwater have a dedicated suite for those of us that love to travel with our furry friends. Stillwater is located on the Tamar River with a gorgeous walk and green dog friendly park running alongside it. Perfect.

Extremely comfortable, very responsive staff, wonderful food and in a great position. Will recommend Stillwater to friends.

Absolutely beautiful Hotel, Service, Food and situation was superb. Seriously the best time us oldies had.

One of the best small hotel experiences you're ever likely to find anywhere in the world, much less in Tasmania. Ideally located with an easy, level walk into town along a waterfront walking path, the hotel looks out over a shallow bay with some boats on moorings, which is very restful. Checkin was quick and easy, and the room's TV was already playing music by artists we like, thanks to the hotel asking what music we like in a pre-arrival email a few days before. The bedding, furnishings and bathroom products are all top-notch and the minibar is really 6-star and reasonably priced. The complimentary breakfast basket with fresh baked croissants was delicious. The guest bar on the mezzanine level is also well stocked and we really appreciated the ice maker and ice buckets for our pre-dinner cocktails. There was once a little noise from outside the room that sounded like furniture being moved but only for a minute or two, otherwise it was quiet. We dined downstairs in the restaurant that night (you will definitely have to book a few weeks in advance) and it was an absolutely fantastic meal, with great service from Bella, a large and reasonably-priced wine list, and probably the best sashimi either of us has ever tasted. Front desk staff were impeccable, gracious and friendly. Had a wonderful time. Thank you Stillwater team!
