based on 22,741 reviewsSingapore Zoo is located in the Mandai Wildlife Reserve in northern Singapore, renowned for its open-concept exhibits: animals are not kept in cages but live in spacious enclosures cleverly separated by vegetation, moats and glass, allowing visitors to often see them in their natural state without obstruction.
The park is home to over 300 animal species, with its signature being the orangutan free-range area—here, orangutans are not displayed in cages but freely climb among the treetops. Travelers strolling along the elevated walkways may look up to see them swinging through the foliage overhead. "Fragile forest" is an artificial rainforest dome where ring-tailed lemurs, two-toed sloths, and large flying foxes move freely around travelers. The primate kingdom houses dozens of primate species, including proboscis monkeys and douc langurs. Malayan tapirs, Malayan tigers, Asian elephants, pygmy hippos, and Komodo dragons are also worth a special visit, while the African savanna zone offers a chance to see lions, giraffes, and zebras all at once.
Experience-wise, the sea lion show is a classic daily performance here. Various exhibits also feature keeper talks and feeding interactions, offering close-up insights into the daily lives of animals like elephants and proboscis monkeys. The signature experience is having breakfast with animal ambassadors such as orangutans at the restaurant named after the park's legendary orangutan, Ah Ming, which usually requires advance booking. Families with children can set aside time for the kids' world: the indoor petting zoo allows close encounters with rabbits, cats and dogs, while the water maze in the splash zone, vintage animal carousel and goat interactions are all popular with young visitors.

Show More ReviewsA must visit whilst you’re in Singapore ! The zoo is quite large and I spent around 4 hours there, but could easily have spend 5 or 6 if I went about slower. Apart from the wonderful animals, it’s the people working there (presenters/ keepers) that made the overall experience amazing!
