The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet area. Everything is clean and pleasant, and the beach and the sea are absolutely wonderful. The natural surroundings are definitely one of the strongest points of this hotel. The rooms are clean, but the standard rooms are extremely small. There is hardly enough space even to put your suitcases somewhere. As far as we know, the hotel will soon close for renovation, which is probably a good idea. Overall, I would say that the hotel deserves its four-star rating. The service is good, as are breakfast and dinner, although sometimes the food presentation feels a little overcomplicated. What really disappointed us, however, were all the additional charges. For example, if you want bacon with your eggs at breakfast, you have to pay an extra €3. If you want three eggs instead of two, you have to pay another €1 for the additional egg. For a hotel in this price category, this feels unnecessary and is quite surprising. The same applies to the beach. Even though the hotel has its own beach, guests still have to pay for the sunbeds. We were told that two sunbeds cost around €50 per day. Considering that we paid more than €400 per night for the room, we found it very disappointing to be charged extra for so many basic things. At this price level, breakfast extras and sunbeds should simply be included. The location is fantastic, the beach is beautiful, the water is wonderful, and the hotel itself is clean and pleasant. Unfortunately, the constant additional charges significantly affected our overall experience.

My daughter just had her wedding at this hotel. The wedding day was fine but the rest of the actual hotel stay was terrible! Bad service, food arrives late, lots of stress and very very basic for not such cheap stay. Don't bother staying at the hotel, not worth it, will never go back!!!

The days of our week-long stay at the Hotel Stella Maris settled very quickly into a predictable routine. After a good buffet breakfast the morning and afternoon were spent relaxing on the excellent fine sandy beach, punctuated by an occasional swim in the beautiful clear waters of Campulongu bay. In the evenings we enjoyed the first class food and excellent service in the hotel restaurant. Not very adventurous, but exactly what we needed to refresh ourselves after an exhausting summer. The friendly and efficient service that we received from all of the staff from reception, the restaurant, on the beach, in the bar and the cleaners was outstanding, and really enhanced our holiday. We would have liked a bit more space in our room, but the view from our balcony more than made up for that, especially the spectacular sunsets.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were awesome. The decor was amazing! Most of the staff spoke English, and were very accommodating and helpful. They arranged a sailboat excursion that took us to several beaches, which were highly recommend. The rooms were clean and quiet. The food was good and the breakfast had many options. We loved the beach being a few footsteps from the hotel. We will definitely return in the future!

Stella Maris is a wonderful base for a relaxing holiday. Its location and exclusive access to a beautiful beach are undoubtedly its biggest selling points. I stayed in a Classic Sea View room on the first floor, directly above the outdoor restaurant. This meant being quite close to the live music, which was played most evenings until around 11pm. Fortunately, I had earplugs with me, so it was manageable. The room was basic but comfortable. There is only one electrical socket, located under the desk, and no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. I came prepared with an extension lead and travel kettle, although the hotel did offer to provide an extension lead at check-in. Breakfast was adequate but fairly basic, with cooked options largely limited to different preparations of eggs and extras charged separately. Freshly squeezed orange juice, for example, was €6. Dinner, however, was exceptional. I chose half-board and was extremely impressed by both the quality and choice of food. The portions were well judged, with added options for grilled dishes, plus bread and desserts from the buffet. The main area requiring serious improvement is the restaurant service. Unfortunately, I felt that particularly some staff (grey-haired head waiter at dinner and grey-haired bespectacled individual taking orders at breakfast) did not treat all guests equally, with Italian patrons appearing to receive more attentive and favourable treatment. In fact on one day, I wasn't even approached for my order at breakfast. This person was just outright dismissive and rude. This was disappointing and, in my view, not consistent with the standards one expects from anyone operating in the hospitality sector. Training in service and ensuring that every guest feels equally valued would be highly-recommended. On the contrary and a very positive note, Carla, Stefania and Ilaria at reception were outstanding. Their warmth, friendliness and genuine willingness to help made me feel extremely welcome, and they consistently went above and beyond. The location, beach and overall good experience make Stella Maris a hotel I would happily revisit. While I could live with the basic amenities of the room, it would be good to see improvements to restaurant service and an earlier dinner time.

Beautiful property, gorgeous beach (plenty of chairs and umbrellas for everyone at any time) food was great and the desserts were incredible. Barely saw any cleaning crews yet everywhere was spotless. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Truly a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days with our friends and had a fabulous holiday. The hotel’s bedrooms were very clean but basic and of a good size. Ours had a large terrace which had a brick wall as overlooked the car park. We stayed on a half board basis which was excellent value. The food was absolutely delicious and the pastries and desserts were outstanding! The service was poor at the start of the holiday in the restaurant with eggs being ordered for breakfast that never arrived even though we chased 3 times. Later things had improved although some male staff were a little grumpy but may have been our lack of ability to speak Italian. We were very disappointed though to not be able to eat breakfast or dinner outside on their beautiful terrace even though the weather was fabulous the whole time. We did ask if we could but were told it wasn’t possible which was such a shame! Lunchtime and bar service was always friendly outside. The hotel always seemed very quiet outside and there was no problem finding sunbeds or places to sit. The beach is absolutely beautiful with fine sand and a gentle shelving beach leading into the crystal blue sea. It would have been nice to have a beach drinks service rather than having to collect our own drinks from the inside bar. One evening there was a DJ and a singer which was great but the other evenings there was no music and it was a bit quiet sitting outside enjoying our drinks. The gardens are beautifully presented and have wonderful views of the sea and mountains. We loved the hotel overall and would definitely come back. The town itself seamed a little quiet when we visited at the end of May but apparently is very busy in the height of summer.

Very nice place, view is fantastic. We booked a suite from last year but we got the wrong one. Thanks God we could change nest day. Beach and Garden are fantastic. Price for drinks a bit too high - we would drink more aperol spritz if the prices would be more the average of Villasimius and not almost double. But however - we can recommend this place as it is one of the best location in South Sardegna

Food disgusting unless eating something cooked in front of you! ie an omelette at breakfast apart from the he first day when mine was raw in the middle! Salmonella poisoning or what! The food in the Chinese A La Carte was beautifully cooked and presented and luckily we managed to eat in there more than we should have. We asked from a quiet room and was put next to the entertainment area so no sleep for 5 nights y til we got moved - they actually wanted to put us in a room next to the road! The staff in the restaurant were wonderful and did their best to help. EasyJet are impossible to contact without spending a fortune on phone calls and then said we had left it too late to complain. The rep in the hotel was usless. The hotel is nearer a 3* than 4*.and the gardens smell of cat pee! We would definitely not stay here again
