My family and I booked three rooms, believing this would be the best accommodation during our stay in Kagoshima based on its high review scores. However, we were quite disappointed and felt that the hotel was somewhat overpriced for the experience provided. The room was quite dark and appeared to lack proper maintenance. For example, there was a small hole in the Japanese paper sliding door and the screen door in the living room, which allowed mosquitoes to enter the room. What was more concerning was that the private hot spring bath area did not feel kind or safe for elderly guests. There were no anti-slip measures, and the stone-paved path was rather sharp and uncomfortable for my mother-in-law to walk on. On the positive side, the staff were hospitable, the dinner was delicious, and the hot spring was of good quality.

Way above the expectation

Environment: The hotel boasts an excellent environment, particularly with the in-room rotenburo (open-air bath). The private dining room adds to the exclusive feel. Its location within a quiet community ensures a peaceful and relaxing stay. Staff: A significant advantage for international travelers is the availability of English-speaking staff. Their willingness to communicate through messaging apps makes pre-arrival arrangements and on-site communication smooth and efficient. Transportation: Direct airport bus service to a nearby bus stop offers convenient access to the hotel. However, it's important to check the bus schedule in advance, as departures are infrequent. Planning accordingly will ensure a hassle-free transfer. Location: The hotel's location provides the convenience of being close to a convenience store, just a short five-minute walk away. This makes it easy to pick up any necessities or snacks. Pricing: The pricing is reasonable, especially when considering the exceptional amenities included. The private rotenburo is a luxurious highlight, and the inclusion of both a fabulous breakfast and an elaborate, multi-course dinner (12+ courses) represents excellent value.

The service is well. The place is clean and tidy. All services are good.
