Pousada Picinguaba

There are a few select places in the world with the atmosphere and quality of light of Picinguaba - the shores of Lake Malawi, the Sinai coast and the island of Langkawi in Malaysia come to mind. But what makes Picinguaba stand out is the genuine warmth and hospitality of the locals, as expressed throughout the village but particularly by the staff at Pousada Picinguaba. Add to that the abundant beauty of the gardens, the spectacular vista from the pool deck, the elegant comfort of the rooms (great hammocks!) and the healthy deliciousness of the food, and you have the experience of a lifetime - genuinely unforgettable.

We had a fantastic week in Picinguaba! The setting is incredible, directly connected to nature. The entire team at the pousada, led by the wonderful Isa and the team David, Francisco, Mari, Suel, took excellent care of us, pleasant, always attentive and so kind. Special mention also for the food, we thoroughly enjoyed it. All the dishes were delicious, varied and so healthy! A stay that will remain in our hearts and memories! Beautiful Pousada nestled on a hill overlooking a fisherman village. Clean, tastefully decorated, and with a dedicated, friendly staff. This place has a soul, respectful of the local culture and the environment. We loved our stay, the meals, and exploring the coast during the day.

Pousada Picinguaba is a rare find - beautifully run, relaxed, and completely in tune with its surroundings. Set above the small fishing village, it offers gorgeous views of the bay, a lovely pool surrounded by tropical gardens, and a feeling of calm that’s hard to describe. The food is exceptional. Every meal feels fresh and full of care - tropical fruit and warm breads at breakfast, and delicious dinners shared in an exquisite dining room overlooking the bay. The kitchen team clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows in every detail. The staff are outstanding - professional, warm, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. They make you feel deeply cared for. The village below is charming and peaceful, with small boats, friendly local spots, and quiet paths to explore. After a morning walk or swim, relaxing by the pool feels like pure contentment. Everything about this place is beautiful, and full of heart. We left feeling deeply grateful for the experience, and already dreaming of returning.

One of the best beach hotels I've stayed at. Wonderful location, great staff, beautiful surroundings, tasty, local food. We kayaked to the deserted beaches of the National Park and explored the river. We ate under the stars overlooking the bay. We drank cold beer in the local bar watching the local fishermen come and go, as turtles swam past. We stayed in Casa Verde - bliss to lie in the hammock with buffy tufted marmosets swinging past.

Be careful the owners are tricky and dishonest they are not always telling the truth and you get ****** into their stories that are not 100% true.

The hotel is nicer in real life. Great food, nice pool. The fishing town Picinguaba is very unique and it feels very original. There is a beach 15mins walk which is deserted and INCREDIBLE.

This is a little place of paradise ! Everything is perfect : very nice staff and manager, always here to help, bedrooms are beautiful with incredible views, perfection in the details. The food also is amazing, very refined delicate with everything fresh. And so many things to do around : fishing, swimming, chilling, surfing, dreaming… Will come again for sure !

Just a little miracle. Nested on top of Pincinguaba - a small fishermen village enjoying the unique privilege of State natural park protection - this one-of-its kind boutique hotel created and run by Manu and Bianca is just the perfect place to unwind and immerge in nature! The view from the swimming pool and its amazing terrace is breathtaking all day long. And if that weren't enough you come across tucans, colibris, little sagui monkis and many flashy others! Just a stone's throw away is the Fazenda Beach, making you feel like a cast away: beautiful, immense... empty (but you can get your Caipirinha and grilled fish back to the hotel)! As a Frenchman I love food. And I was not disappointed! The breakfast is a delight, like everything else. All freshly prepared by great cooks, and 100% organic. Rediscover what taste means! I forgot to mention the sunsets, that you can also go enjoy from the house's boat moored in the bay, the great staff, and, and...and... But shhhht. Don't spread the word too much. Well, okay, a last tip: after enjoying the sea at Picinguaba rush to Fazenda Catuçaba to discover the charms of this property and the country side around it, retreat in fabulous secluded houses, ride horses and more! Go check out too! After a week at Picinguaba I'm finishing a one week stay there at the Lake house (yes it has its private lake!) Can't resolve to leave and get back to rainy Northern Europe!
