Hotel Quinta Solera

Plus points - warm, friendly welcome from Beatrix who went above and beyond to give us a great stay - she is a real asset to the owners. Beautiful view from our balcony. Building refurbished to a high standard. Quiet and comfortable bed. Dinner the first night had generous portions and was good quality. Minus points - lack of communication between the owner with whom I booked and staff - booked a twin room and didn't get one despite reiterating this point and I booked dinner both nights but Beatrix did not know that and had an hour's notice to prepare. There is only one member of staff at any one time so Beatrix was answering the phone, cooking, showing guests to their room and serving at table - for that reason we couldn't ask her to make the room a twin. There was no choice at dinner and no menu so we just had what was available without knowing the price and we had to have a bottle of wine as it was not available by the glass. The second night we had the same food as the first night - tomato salad both nights even though the garden was full of vegetables and surely we could have had something else prepared as they had notice? There is nowhere within 20 mins drive at least to eat. When we got the bill we had been charged 150 euros for two meals which we felt was excessive. Great place for one night.
