Mas de Torrent Hotel & Spa, Relais & Châteaux

Wow, from arriving the hotel was just stunning. Friendly staff, beautiful room, garden suite. The pool area was really big, lots of beds and parasols. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced for Relais and Chateau. The menu was a bit limited though if you wanted to eat several nights. We went out to a local restaurant to mix things up. The best part of this hotel is the spa/gym/padel and tennis courts. Everything is of a very high standard. We will definitely be back!

We returned after our first visit in July 2025. On this second visit, we found the staff less attentive and less friendly — maybe it was the heat? To give an example, on trip one everyone knew our names and said hello when we came and went. On this trip, staff seemed put off by many of our requests and in several cases just didn’t respond at all. The exception was one of the women at the front desk who gave a glimpse of what it used to be.

Mas de Torrent was the highlights of our trip to Costa Brava. The property is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, elegant, and surrounded by nature. It has such a calm, relaxing atmosphere that made it hard to leave. The concierge team was exceptional and helped us plan unforgettable experiences. They arranged a private boat day that ended up being one of the best days of our vacation. We also took the cooking class with our kids, and it was such a fun and memorable family activity on the property. It was hands-on, well organized, and something we'll all remember for years. All of the meals were had on property were wonderful and delicious! The service throughout our stay was outstanding, and every member of the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. If you're looking for a luxurious yet relaxed getaway in Costa Brava, I can't recommend Mas de Torrent highly enough. We can't wait to come back!

Restaurant very good food and service. Hotel accommodation, buffet breakfast and facilities really 4 star quality and staff were not engaged and did not respond to problems such as door to room accessed at 0630 hrs with no staff accepting responsibility and no response from manager once staff progressed issue up to management. Best to avoid this hotel unless overnight stay as part of cycling tour which appears what the hotel has now become!!

What a gorgeous property in the middle of so many great little towns. The resort itself is stunning. The rooms are all gorgeous (I experienced the garden suite, the pool suite and the residential suite) and all were beautiful and spacious. They are well equipped and have everything you may need. The gym and spa is very nice. Not huge but decently sized to get the job done. I had a great massage during my stay and was able to use the gym quite often without any issues. The two restaurants are delicious and have a lot of wonderful options. Breakfast so amazing with so many buffet items and a la carte menu. Claudia at the restaurant was the sweetest person ever. She really made each morning very special. Oh and get the flan. One of the best!! Carlos who handles the suitcases and the valet had the best energy ever. You can just tell he’s a happy individual and it just radiates off of him. Timea from the front desk went above and beyond for me. She helped us move the boat reservation when we wanted to change dates. She helped us make a second reservation to return when we didn’t like our next hotel. And she also moved my room when I had an issue with some noises upon arrival due to construction being done quickly outside my room. The boat excursion was also great. Sergio the captain was fun to talk to and accommodating.

We chose this iconic hotel on the Costa Brava to celebrate New Year's Eve with our friends, drawn by a positive experience a few months prior and the high expectations associated with its 5-star reputation. The setting is unparalleled: a beautiful farmhouse with spectacular gardens and impeccable, attentive service at all times, which made us feel welcome from the very first moment. However, the dinner was a complete fiasco that in no way justified the high price of the reservation. The dishes arrived cold and dry, with bland flavors and small portions that were deeply disappointing; even the water they served had a strong chlorine taste, which further spoiled the overall experience. For example, the cannelloni was cold and inedible, and I noticed that many diners, including ourselves, left the veal dish almost untouched due to its careless presentation and an unpleasant taste that bordered on mediocre. We left with a palpable feeling of being cheated, especially painful since we had recommended the place to our friends, turning what should have been an unforgettable celebration into one of the worst New Year's Eve nights of our lives. We regret that we cannot recommend this special experience, despite the charm of the location.

The dinner was excellent and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The view is beautiful and the natural surroundings are impressive, which is what you expect from a place like this. Unfortunately, the experience was seriously affected by the room quality. The first room was not properly clean and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which is unacceptable considering the high price level. What made it worse was that I had to complain multiple times and argue with a manager, even mentioning the possibility of leaving a bad review, just to finally get a new room. That’s very disappointing when you’re paying premium rates — this should never be necessary. Service & Management While the food service was good, the way the situation was handled by management felt unprofessional and stressful. Guests should feel cared for, not forced to fight for basic comfort. ✅ Overall Great food and nice views, but room standards and management response need serious improvement to match the price and reputation of the hotel.

We stayed mid June for our anniversary trip. Hotel grounds were spectacular and relaxing. We enjoyed the pool and the low key service. Everything was very calm. Hotels staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and things to do nearby. Afternoon tea was so nice for an afternoon snack! Food was uniformly good across both the MAs restaurant and breakfast/ pool restaurant. We had a room in the main building in the 2nd floor with an excellent balcony area. Perfect place to sit and relax. Air conditioning was very good in the room. Bathrooms were also very nice and well appointed. I could not figure out the TV but that was ok, so much else to do. Would recommend this hotel and general area for a visit. We loved it.
