Reviews of Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan - Seoul Dragon City

The hotel is conveniently located near Yongsan Train Station and the subway station, making public transportation and taxis easily accessible. The rooms are quite large and very spacious. The hotel staff are enthusiastic and provide great service. The only downside is that there aren't many restaurants nearby, or they are a bit far away.

The facilities were impeccably clean, which made for a very comfortable trip! Plus, there's a convenience store right inside the building, and it's directly connected to the station, so I didn't get wet in the rain and could comfortably pick up anything I needed!

This was my second stay here, mainly because it's so close to iPark Mall. The service is pretty mediocre though; they don't even offer turndown service. The location is definitely a plus, as it's convenient to get anywhere from here.

The location is decent, especially for the price, as Yongsan Station is nearby and offers easy access to everywhere. Breakfast was also quite satisfactory and met my basic needs. However, the double bed being two single beds pushed together was a bit disappointing.

Overall, I had a good stay, although I would recommend keeping expectations reasonable for a Novotel. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and bright with plenty of natural light. The bed had a good level of firmness, and both the pillows and duvet were very comfortable. However, I encountered two issues during my stay. First, there was a problem with the motion-sensor light near the entrance of the room. It was supposed to turn on when someone entered or walked by, but the sensor in my room seemed to malfunction. The light kept turning on by itself even when no one was moving nearby, and this happened dozens of times throughout the night. As someone sensitive to light while sleeping, this was quite disruptive. I contacted the front desk the next morning, and they quickly sent a technician who removed the sensor/light system. I really appreciated how efficiently the staff handled the issue, although unfortunately it had already affected my sleep for the entire night. Second, the bathroom floor and the area connecting the bathroom to the room were quite slippery when wet. Extra caution may be needed, especially for elderly guests or families with young children. Before check-in, I received an email informing me that the hotel swimming pool was under maintenance and that guests would need to use the pool at the neighboring Grand Mercure instead. However, during my actual stay, the swimming pool at the 4F Fitness Club was still available for use. The information was therefore somewhat inconsistent, although it did not negatively affect my stay. I also paid to use the sauna facilities. The area was clean and well maintained. The facilities consisted of one cold bath, one hot bath, and a dry sauna. There was no wet sauna or steam room, and I personally found the dry sauna temperature to be relatively mild. If the sauna is an important part of your stay, you may want to consider whether the facilities meet your expectations before paying the additional fee. Overall, the room itself was comfortable and spacious, and I was impressed by how quickly the staff responded when I reported the sensor issue. There were a few minor issues with the facilities and communication, but the stay was generally pleasant. A good hotel overall, just don't set your expectations too high.

Connected to Yongsan Station Exit 3 via a covered skybridge, this hotel is just two stops away from the transportation hub of Seoul Station, making it quite convenient for reaching major shopping areas. The lobby is grand, definitely five-star quality, and the rooms were even newer than expected – it doesn't feel like a hotel that opened in 2017; perhaps it's been renovated? On the downside, there's no convenience store directly below the hotel, so if you want snacks or drinks at night, you have to buy them on your way back from the subway. Also, the bathroom sink area is open-concept, and there's no shelf in the shower, meaning you have to step out to get dressed after showering, which is a bit inconvenient. Housekeeping wasn't very thorough; they occasionally forgot to restock tissues and towels. Despite these minor issues, I stayed for five nights and was generally satisfied. I'd still consider this hotel for my next trip to Seoul.

I had to stay an extra day and booked this place in a hurry. There was a bit of a hassle due to a pricing display issue with Trip.com, but it was quickly resolved, allowing me to stay another day without any problems. The view was a bit disappointing as it's currently a construction site below. Since it wasn't a high floor and the right side was blocked by a protruding building, the view was limited. The bathtub was great and the bedding was superb. Most importantly, it's directly connected to Yongsan Station Exit 3, which was incredibly convenient. Enjoyed my 'hocance' (hotel vacation) during the hot summer.

From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with bright smiles, which gave me a great first impression of the hotel. Its proximity to Yongsan Station makes it easily accessible, and the variety of nearby facilities makes it perfect for a staycation in Seoul. I'm leaving with wonderful memories and feeling well-rested!

Located at the major Yongsan Station, the hotel offers convenient transportation and is right next to a department store with a food court. The subway station also has many shops and eateries to explore. It's a hotel with an excellent location and convenient amenities.

This was my first time staying here! The room was compact. I was able to choose between a bathtub and a shower, so I went with the bathtub. It felt very cramped, perhaps because an extra bed was still set up from the previous guest. The cleanliness wasn't great either, so I think I'll try a different hotel next time. However, most of the hotel staff were very kind and helpful, assisting guests in both English and Japanese.

The hotel itself was good, and the service wasn't bad either. There were even staff members who spoke Japanese. The only issue was that because there's a casino inside the hotel, there were many angry Chinese male tourists (who probably lost money at the casino), which was quite intimidating. Other than that, everything was fine. They also offered 24-hour service and had a convenience store.

The hotel is excellently located. It's very close to the main attractions, and with a large interchange station nearby, you can get everywhere in no more than 40 minutes. The room is spacious and comfortable. Not the best view (there's construction going on in front), but the city lights up beautifully at night.

The location is good. Is clean and near to a mall. Next time will stay here again.

The room is 30 square meters, which is quite spacious for its category. The surrounding facilities are excellent, with direct access to I'Park Mall, the train station, and duty-free shops via a connected walkway, so you're protected from wind and rain. There are two buildings dedicated to hotels: one is Novotel, and the other houses Ibis and Novotel Suites. All three hotels are interconnected and share a common lobby on the ground floor. The Ibis building has a GS25 convenience store and a casino on its second floor. The location is fantastic; it's quite close to everything. Yeouido, the National Museum, Myeongdong, Hannam-dong, and Ikseon-dong are all basically within a 10,000 KRW Uber ride. The value for money is good on weekdays, but the price doubles on weekends, which feels a bit too much of a jump.
