Wasuki Tsukasakan

The location is excellent, right on Kamitori Street. It's just a short walk across the street from where the airport bus drops you off. It's an older Japanese-style hotel. The large public bath on the 6th floor shows its age but is very spacious. Our room was also quite large. For two adults and one child, we had a double bed, a single bed, and a small living area where they had prepared an extra futon set, so everyone had their own sleeping space. It rained every day we were there, but we could shop around Kamitori and Shimotori without getting wet. Kumamoto Castle, Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, and the Kumamon Office are all within walking distance. There are also bus and tram stops right outside. I highly recommend this for families. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel's affiliated parking lot is far and costs money. If I stay here again, I'd use the private parking lot right in front of the hotel.

I searched for a single room on Trip.com and booked, but it kept showing as a double. Unfortunately, the staff were very helpful. It seems like a fairly old place, but the staff were friendly and helpful. The interior has an antique feel, yet it feels well-maintained. The rooms are spacious. You have to go to the main lobby to get water, but all the amenities are provided at the check-in desk. You don't need a toothbrush or anything else. It's a bit disappointing that you have to use the lobby water purifier to get water, but there's a vending machine in the lobby, so it's not a problem. I couldn't use the bathroom because of my cold, but I slept well. There's also a fabric deodorizer in the closet. Finally, it's a great place to stay, as it's within walking distance of the city center and popular tourist spots, and it's also close to Kumamoto Castle and Sakuramachi.
