Nelson Tower
This is a hidden gem within Forres. Set on the hill behind the main park it has a gentle path up to the tower . The area around the tower is fantastic for walking your dog or just for a stroll.
The tower itself looks pretty lame to be fair as its pebble dash and I do not like that. But don't let that put you off from coming here. The views make it worth it- they are absolutely gob smacking. ...

Well worth a visit as you pass by an old cemetary on the way to the tower. Once you reach the top there are some beautiful views ... were too early to gain access to the tower.
One hour trip - 20 mins up the hill. Run by great volunteers - opens 14:00 I recall for a couple of hours. On Sunday the (older) Chap was welcoming and very chatty- proud of the history. Contributi...
