    14,000 BC to modern times!

There are very good information boards about the usage of this cave throughout the millenia. In addition, the relatively modern Shinto shrines are interesting.

Japan で Initial に Investigation された Cave Relics

    Original Text

It is a national historic site and is the first cave dwelling site to be investigated in Japan. It is said that the stratum including relics was found in the order of times, and the difference between Jomon and Yayoi cultures was revealed as color 々 in this survey, so I think it is archaeologically valuable in that sense. It's right next to the rich sea and there is spring water in the back of the cave, so I felt it was an ideal place for an ancient residence. The explanation panel for each era is also easy to understand.

It is a cave in a fishing village. It seemed that cave enthusiasts were visiting. I was surprised that there was a cave in such a place.

    Subtle

    Original Text

It is easy to associate the situation where a dark horizontal hole continues to the back from the sound of a "cave", but this is a small depression once shaved by the waves, and ancient human beings lived there. It feels like that. Now a company is set up, and only panels describing the history of the residence ruins are on display around it. Perhaps it was a countermeasure against money thieves, the buzzer started ringing when I approached the building and I was impatient.

As expected, it is the first cave ruins in Japan. It was an archaeological site that remains in the history of Japanese archaeology! !!

    Original Text

It is a cave ruin in a fishing village in Osakai, Himi City, Toyama Prefecture. There was a cave behind Hakusan Shrine near the Osakai fishing port in Miichi. It was the first cave site excavated and investigated in Japan in 1918, and was designated as a national historic site in 1922. According to the signboard of the explanation, six cultural layers (ruins consisting of underground soil layers that contain archaeological materials such as earthenware and stone tools) from the mid-Jomon period to the medieval period were confirmed. The cave is medium 々 and high 8 m, entrance ...
