It is the largest earth dam in Japan on the prefectural border with Gifu Prefecture, the northern end of Mie Prefecture. The nickname is Lake Suzuyo. There is a parking lot next to the water source management branch of the water resources organization Mie Irrigation Management Office on the south side of the lake, and there are information boards and Nakasato Dam signs overlooking the lake.
