We observed the operation and purpose of this bridge by accident. We walked into town over this bridge from the cruise ship dock and on the way back found it closed for foot traffic and open for boat...
When in Klaipeda, you should definitely see how this bridge is being turned! To turn it , two people are needed, and , yes, its turned by man not mechanically.
If you see the black ghost you will cross this bridge. It has character and apparently still operates (opens up to allow boats through). Nice because it has some charm and character
Bridge by the ghost and old mill. Nice area, bridge nothing special, but it can be exciting for kids, to see it move up and let small boats pass to the and out of the marina.
