An old temple in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture. There is a memorial tomb for Nakatoki Hojo and his vassals in the place that became an old battlefield during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. In addition, Chutaro Jizo, who enshrined Chutaro in Banba, was also behind the temple. There was a treasure warehouse in the main hall, and spears from the Northern and Southern Dynasties were exhibited.

Do you know "Rengeji"? It is a temple located in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, but its foundation is unknown and is said to have been in the Asuka period. It is a historic temple and is mourning the bodhi of more than 430 people in the army of Hojo Nakatoki who committed suicide here during the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. In addition, the large cedar trees and autumn leaves will be a highlight.

Yamaji Rengeji Temple in Banba, which was the 62nd post town on Nakasendo. It is the head temple of the Jodo sect, which is said to have been built by Prince Shotoku. It is known that Rokuhara Tandai Hojo Nakatoki, who was defeated by Takauji Ashikaga in the battle of the Northern and Southern Dynasties and was blocked by the road to the East, committed suicide in front of the main hall with more than 430 vassals. Ikkosugi, which is over 700 years old, is watching over many mossy tombs in the back of the main hall.

The highlight is the beautiful autumn leaves.

    Original Text

I visited Nakasendo / Banba-juku. To be honest, I stopped by. You can see the wonderful autumn leaves without entering the temple. I didn't enter the precincts because I was in a hurry this time, but I could see only the autumn leaves firmly.
