Renkaji Temple is located in Banbajuku on Nakasendo. The temple was originally called Horyuji Temple, built by Prince Shotoku. After that, Ikko rebuilt the temple and is now a temple of the Jodo sect. This temple is famous for the suicide of Hojo Nakatoki, who was in the northern part of Rokuhara Tandai at the end of the Kamakura period, with a clan retainer ４３２. There is also "Tadataro Jizo" by Chutaro, the main character of Shinsaku Hasegawa's "Mother of the Sorrow".
