San pedro de Atacama is the only oasis in the Atacama desert. The streets in the town are full of backpackers, all in the same state as wild people. The Atacama desert is really a paradise for outdoor sports, sandboarding, hiking volcanoes, riding, etc. The town is like a Longmen Inn, a place for people who come back from desert hiking. Be sure to taste the fruit here. Mango, papaya, orange, ginseng fruit, apples, pears are as many as there are big oysters; especially watermelon and melons are comparable to Xinjiang.
