HANAKOTO
One of the three ancient monuments in Japan
Original Text
A stone monument made to commemorate Shuzo Tagajo. The names of historical figures who were active in Mutsu during the Nara period are engraved, and it seems that it includes contents that are not written in the regular history. I thought that the historical value was high when I thought that the history of the old days far from such historic sites would be clarified little by little.
There is a small hall-like building on the hill on the south side of the Tagajo Government Office, and there is a Tagajo monument in it. Originally, it was built in 762 to commemorate the construction of taga Jo castle, and it seems that it has been preserved in a cover shop since it was excavated in the Edo period. The area where the Taga Castle Monument was located used to be the main gate of Taga Castle, and from there, the north-south road with a width of 23 meters was extended. The stone monument is weathered and it is difficult to discriminate the characters even if you look at the covering, but "...
It is built in the Taga Castle Monument cover shop, which is a few minutes walk from the south gate of Taga Castle. This monument was discovered in the Edo period and has come to be called under the name of Utamakura "Tsubo Monument / Tsubo no Ishibumi". The haiku poet Basho Matsuo also wrote in "Okunohosodo" the impression he met when he visited this monument.
Replicas are placed in museums here and there, and the words "Leave Kyoto ..." are cool, so I went to see the real thing. There was a shrine, and the inside was dim and I couldn't see it well, but I was impressed that it remained well.

I stopped by the Taga Castle Monument on the way to the destination. There are tourist volunteers, so it seems that you can explain the color 々.
