An Ancient Tomb, Well Worth the Visit
To fully appreciate the Yamato area, may I recommend "Precious Stones, the Poetry Monuments of the Yamanobe no Michi." It's available on Amazon and gives English-speaking travelers a fine orientation ...
I visited while walking on the mountainside road. It has an atmosphere and is magnificent. I've seen many burial mounds, but I felt the power. I learned another thing.
When I took a walk along the mountainside road, I took a detour and stopped by.
Original Text
I walked on the mountainside road from Sakurai to Tenri. It is said that you will enter between the two ponds on the back side of the tomb of Emperor Sujin at the middle point. Since it is well preserved, you can see the whole appearance of the tumulus well.
It is an old burial mound that is almost adjacent to the east side of the tomb of Emperor Sujin. You can't see the whole picture unless you look at it from above, but it is said that this is a strange shape of both medium-circle burial mounds. This is not said to be the tomb of anyone, so it must be a tomb of a gozoku class.
Go south of the road of Yamanobe, and at the end of the latter half ~, he climbed from the 'front' part to the moat of the huge emperor Sujin's mausoleum and went right. Then, in the highest "rear circle" part, the moat of Kushiyama Kofun was in contact with the east side. Just beyond that, Mt. Miwa, the mountain of God, looked at his head, and it was mysterious.
