Vast scenic beaches
The Vopnafjordur area is a must visit. Stunning cliffs and volcanic formations along beaches and coves, surrounded by waterfalls. Fabulous scenic hikes.
Cool rock, visible from the road. Looks like an elephant from several angles. Path is no picnic however you will get wet and muddy if that is your thing.

Not very exciting
Doesn’t look much like an elephant but at least it’s only about 100m from the road. Nothing else special here.

It's a rock
There is no sign for the Elephant, but if you get a map at the information center you can find it. It's out of town, down a gravel road.
Elephant
Small sector with small walks to the lights to discover a wonderful view of which Mister Elephant(water) I would say!
