Wang Boqun's former residence is located in Jingjiatun, Xiawutun Subdistrict Office, Xingyi City. It was built in the early years of Qingguangxu. It sits east to west. The hard mountain cross-dou-style blue tile structure is composed of the front hall, two rooms and the main hall. The building covers an area of 736.88 square meters. Later, there is a gate building in the southeast of the courtyard, one in the northwest, northeast and southeast, and one in the south-west. There are five stone piled fences between the gate building and the observation deck to increase the area to 2837 square meters, which also makes the architectural characteristics of the former residence from the residential to the military defense function. Wang Boqun's former residence has been destroyed many years ago, the original wooden structure of the house has disappeared, only the steps and beam base still maintain the original luxury, some broken door lattice still show the prominent status of the Wang family at that time. Now we see the former residence is in view of the Wang brothers laid a solid foundation of Xingyi modern human history, Xingyi Cultural Tourism Radio and Television Bureau in June 30, 2016, officially launched Xingyi Wang Boqun's former residence repair project after restoration. In 1915, Mr. Wang Boqun participated in the planning of the national protection movement, and later became the first transportation minister of the National Government. In 1924, Mr. Wang founded Building University in Shanghai, served as a member of the National Government and transportation minister from 1927 to 1933; in 1944, Wang Boqun died at Chongqing Army Hospital, aged 89, due to stomach ulcer disease. Wang Boqun's former residence is not large in scale, and the house is mainly built with local stone, with wooden architecture. The front door looks very powerful, and the top of the door is written in four big words of the Wang family compound. There is an open space in the middle of the house, which is a style that ancient China likes to do very much. The open space is paved with slate. Because of the long time, it has been somewhat damaged, and the existing ones are all original. Behind the main house is a small mountain. I heard from the guard that the mountain was once the site of Wang Boqun's ancestral grave, but it was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. I think the biggest feature of Wang Boqun's former residence is the door wall, which gives people a special sense of history. The building has not been too much decoration and change. Although it looks a bit tattered, it allows us to see the original things, but it is very rare now.
