It is a temple of the Soto sect founded in 1490 and is designated as the 10th Temple of Chichibu Kannon Sacred Ground. Since the main image of the Holy Kannon Bodhisattva, which is said to have been made by the Eishin monk, Jizo Bodhisattva and child-rearing Kannon are enshrined, it is worshiped as a temple for child-rearing and child-rearing.
