A temple near the samurai residence in Katsuyama
Original Text
Katsuyama, where the old townscape remains. It is located on a hill where you climb a steep stone steps from the townscape preservation district. Close to the Samurai Residence Building, there are Akihanomiya and Shirakikuzuka in the precincts.
It is a memorial temple for the birth of Motomitsu Jakumuro, the founder of Eigenji (Higashiomi City, Shiga Prefecture), the head temple of the Eigenji school of the Rinzai sect. It was founded in 1703 (Genroku 16). The temple opened at the birthplace started, and then changed its location and moved to its current location in 1751 (Horekigen). The statue of Holy Kannon, the principal image, is a cultural property designated by Okayama Prefecture. The torii gate at the entrance is larger than the main hall and other temples, and it is almost like a shrine for a moment. There is a well on the main street of the townscape preservation district, and you can reach it by going up the hill as a landmark.

Original Text
I saw it while walking on foot from Katsuyama Station in China and worshiped. There was a torii gate near the precincts, and when I thought it was a shrine, it was actually a temple of the Rinzai sect. The statue of Holy Kannon, the principal image, seemed to be an important cultural property designated by the prefecture. In addition, a monument called Shirakikuzuka stood in the precincts.
