Autumn Story - Wanaka Roy Peak Trail
The Roy's Peak hike, as announced by the New Zealand Tourism Bureau, is a total of 16 kilometers round trip, which normally takes about 6 hours. The mountain road is a zigzagging uphill dirt and gravel path, constantly ascending. From the top of the mountain, you can overlook the panoramic view of Lake Wanaka and the magnificent scenery of the Aspiring Mountain Range in the distance, which is famous worldwide. There are two scenic viewpoints at the summit, the first of which is a popular photo spot with a path extending outward. Standing on the outermost rock, the mountains and lake scenery are breathtaking, with epic views that will leave you in awe. After 10 am, there are more people and you may have to queue up just to take that unforgettable photo. To reach the highest peak, it takes about an hour round trip from the second viewpoint. However, the view from the top is not as good as the second viewpoint, so many people just take photos at the second viewpoint and then head back down. The Filipino girl's English name is Joy, she is 26 years old, young, lively, and loves traveling, taking photos, and playing with drones. We spent a little over 3 hours hiking up the mountain, and because Joy had to return the car at 1 pm, we hurried down and only took a little over an hour and a half. Including the time we spent taking photos and lingering, we arrived at the parking lot at the foot of the mountain around 12:30 pm.
The Roy Peak Walk is a great hiking route to climb Roy Peak and visit the beautiful lake views around it. There is both the process of climbing mountains and the journey of wading in the water. A variety of different hiking experiences give people a very pleasant and satisfying feeling, which is definitely worth exploring.
The Roy Peak Walking Road is a hiking route between the mountains. The whole walking path is very difficult to walk in a gentle place. In short, it is more suitable for moderate physical hiking activities. Especially there is a process of wading in it, which is still very interesting and thrilling, and it is worth experiencing.
The 16km hike up and down Roy Peak ended, tired, and finally went down the mountain was really tortured. Fortunately, the scenery is beautiful, the plants (pictured 2.3.4) are also changing with the altitude, and the whole journey is changing the direction to see Wanaka Lake in all directions. There are private pastures along the way, but unfortunately forgot to come to the sheep, the sheep is very shy, and people will generally hide or face you. There are rabbit holes all the way, and finally I saw a lot of rabbits when I went down the mountain, and the eagles were hovering...
The entrance to the trail is not obvious, it was a bit hard to climb up, but the view above is really beautiful
Climbing the Roy Peak Trail is a life practice. It is absolutely impossible to reach the top because of poor physical ability and weak will. Especially, the super slope stone road at the beginning will frighten a group of people. It really reflects the difficulty of starting everything. It takes more than 2 hours to travel and needs to bring some water and food to replenish physical fitness. Viewing platform, standing high and looking ahead, the scenery over there is unique, so that you feel no pain in vain. One thing to remind you is that although you can't wait for shorts and shorts along the way, the top of the mountain is still chilly and you have to put on winter clothes.
I really want to go on a hike and see the beautiful scenery on the top of the mountain. Unfortunately, the wind was very strong when I arrived that day. I only strolled around the upper and lower entrances. The scenery was good.
The trek up was awesome. The boys complained the entire way up but when they got to the peak, they loved the beautiful views.
It was hard to get up, but the view from above made you feel worth the trip
