Fairmont Peace Hotel on the Bund

For my birthday, the hotel upgraded me to a room facing the street, with a fantastic view of Nanjing Road and the Bund right outside the window. I was also pleasantly surprised with a small birthday cake. As photography enthusiasts, we made sure to check out the Peace Hotel Museum and all the other photo-worthy spots. We stayed on a Friday, and the jazz performance in the lobby on the first floor was absolutely amazing – a great way for old friends who love Shanghai to relax. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, especially since it was a Saturday and we could dine until 11:00 AM, which was a very thoughtful touch. I highly recommend this historic Peace Hotel with its century-old heritage to anyone who's considering a stay!

It was my husband's birthday, and they gave us a small cake, which was a nice touch. The welcome fruit was also great. However, the hotel facilities are a bit old. The lobby was also packed with tourists taking photos, making it a bit noisy. The overall experience wasn't the best. The breakfast buffet didn't have much variety, and the pool and gym were quite small.

Facilities: A historic, well-established hotel. Cleanliness: Even though the furniture is old, it's very clean, and there's a smart toilet. Environment: A one-minute walk to The Bund, and a prime spot on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Service: The service is exceptionally good, friendly yet not intrusive. The front desk even helped upgrade our room type and prepared a birthday surprise for my child, which was incredibly thoughtful. !!!Note: If your room type doesn't include a minibar, don't use it, after all, a can of Coke costs 55 RMB 😂

Service: Incredibly thoughtful. The front desk staff (guy) was very helpful and considerate. Hygiene: The cleaning staff were very enthusiastic and welcoming. Environment: A bit old, but the top floor has amazing views. The Bund night view is absolutely stunning, though it can be quite windy.

Staying at the Peace Hotel was a perfect experience, truly embodying the century-old charm of the Bund. The architecture is exquisitely retro with a super classy Art Deco style. The service was elegant and thoughtful, paying attention to every detail. The room was comfortable and the amenities were high-end. The location is unbeatable, right on the Bund. Plus, I got to enjoy a performance by the old jazz band. It was an unforgettable luxurious journey into old Shanghai, highly recommended!

The facilities, cleanliness, ambiance, and service were all better than expected, which I'm very satisfied with. The mini-bar had plenty of free drinks, and the breakfast buffet offered a good variety and tasted great. It was a very pleasant trip.

This hotel has a unique, vintage charm. It's nestled in a quiet spot despite being in a bustling area, and the soundproofing is excellent. The rooms are well-appointed with all the necessary amenities, and the environment is elegant and beautiful. The service is warm and attentive, and the breakfast offers a rich and varied selection.

Facilities: Generally well-maintained in all aspects, especially the lobby facilities. The rooms are a bit dated, but overall maintenance is very meticulous. Hygiene: Very good, didn't see any obvious stains or dirt. Environment: The lobby is open to the public for viewing, so it's very noisy during the day, but gets better at night. Service: Excellent in all aspects. The lounge, lobby, and room staff were all very polite. I experienced the unique charm of the Bund and meticulous care. The gentlemen and ladies in the lounge provided excellent service, and the front desk staff were also very good. High standards for an old-school luxury hotel.

Historic Ambiance I really loved the hotel service; it was incredibly warm and attentive. The xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) at breakfast were a highlight; my child especially enjoyed them. Although the hotel is quite old, the interior decor and facilities are very comfortable and don't feel dated at all.
