The hotel is located in the old city, so the surroundings, with many old buildings, aren't the best. However, it's conveniently within walking distance of attractions like Shamian Island, Yongqing Fang, and Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. Downstairs, you'll find the main branch of Guangzhou Restaurant, as well as wholesale markets for traditional Chinese medicine and clothing (like Shisanxing). Built in 2024, it seems to be a renovated commercial/residential building. Being an IHG property, it benefits from the brand's reputation, and the price was quite reasonable during the New Year period. The lobby is spacious and located on the second floor. The rooms are very large and expansive, and the 1.35m wide beds in the double room met my basic hotel requirements. Every evening, they offer different traditional sweet soups, which is a lovely, thoughtful touch (even the 316-grade stainless steel thermos shows attention to detail!). Breakfast is plentiful, with both Western and Chinese options. Both the facilities and service are excellent, offering great value for money.
