Hilton Chongqing

The hygiene was truly awful. I found a used condom under the bed. The public restroom on the first floor lobby smelled terrible. The pool, while seemingly clean, felt a bit old and had an unpleasant smell and view. The breakfast didn't compare to the InterContinental Hotel in Jiefangbei where I stayed before, nor did it match the Sheraton Hotel's breakfast experience. It was a very bad experience. They started clearing everything away at 10:30 AM. We arrived after 10 AM, and the first time we tried to enter, we were refused entry because we were wearing bathrobes – something I never encountered at the Sheraton or InterContinental. Being refused entry already cut into our dining time, and by the time we finally ate, most of the food available was really unappetizing, though the cold oatmeal was decent. Also, we found a condom on the carpet, and after reporting it, the hotel offered no feedback, no apology, and no reaction at all. I felt completely dismissed. Furthermore, you can't enter the pool without a swim cap. We had to buy swim caps for 120, which I thought was extremely expensive. It's not that I mind buying them, but I just felt it was very overpriced. Compared to the Sheraton's service, the Sheraton's pool provides complimentary swim goggles, whereas here, you have to buy even the goggles separately. Overall, my impression of the Hilton hotel was that it felt like an 'unfamiliar Western dining experience.' The hygiene was genuinely poor. As shown in my second photo, there was actually a condom! It's outrageous. It reminded me of the worst situations at budget hotels like Home Inn or Atour. I received absolutely no verbal or official apology from the hotel.

This is an established five-star hotel. As soon as we entered, a bellhop helped us with our luggage. The front desk staff were warm and professional, especially Gloria and Steve, who provided excellent service. The room they assigned us had a fantastic view, and they even sent up complimentary drinks. The breakfast spread was also very generous. I'll definitely be back. I thought the facilities might be old, but they weren't at all. It had a classic feel but wasn't dated, and the room was especially warm.

Our room was upgraded to a very spacious and quiet one, and the cleanliness was excellent. A special shout-out to the housekeeping staff who were incredibly diligent and responsible. Front desk agent Li Qinlian was also very thoughtful and attentive.

The hotel facilities were a bit old, but parking was free, and the service was good. My kids enjoyed the pool, and the gym was also decent and clean.

I stayed at the Hilton in Chongqing for three nights and was satisfied with everything. It's very close to the subway station (Lianglukou) and Didi (ride-hailing) is also super convenient. There are plenty of food options nearby, including a Luckin Coffee right outside. The staff were amazing! Housekeeping Auntie Chen (I hope I got the name right) was incredibly thoughtful; she brought amenities for my child and even provided a bathtub liner and bath salts. Vickie and Jason at the front desk provided excellent service and even complimentary breakfast for one day. The concierge staff proactively helped me with my luggage both at check-in and check-out. It truly felt like a home away from home, especially for a mom traveling alone with a child! I recommend bringing a swimsuit. We forgot ours, otherwise, I definitely would have relaxed in the heated pool. I really enjoy swimming in winter.
