Visited Sunscape for two weeks with my 3 year old and partner. I did check the reviews before booking, however, many of the resorts in Dominican Rep were inconsistent with ratings and reviews so we decided to go anyway. I read that the service at the restaurants was poor / very slow, this was the number one problem for us, waiting for tables, waiting for drinks, constantly asking for wine to be topped or for another drink became really tiresome. The main buffet wasn’t amazing, the restaurant service as mentioned was slow so some days we actually just ate the cafe or pizza bar. My sandals and skirt got stolen from the pool area so be wary of that, keep your things tucked away or if valuable leave them in your room. I packed light so had to then go out to the mall and replace them. We had no shower gel or shampoo etc in our rooms, we had to go and ask for them. Our toilet flooded after a few days of being here. There is lots to do for children here (pools, parks, games room) and the beach is stunning! Entertainment staff are fantastic, although, it can be quite repetitive (especially after the first week) the beach front outside this hotel is actually better than the more expensive hotels further along, much less sea**** piles washed up (they do clear it daily) I think overall, value for money it’s a good family trip. Not sure I’d come back to Sunscape Coco though.
