Firstly....I understand the rules of supply and demand! A Saturday night in Whitstable. It was busy. It was £150 for 2 with breakfast. At a Premier Inn. A Premier Inn that has a very scruffy sign, a good supply of dead plants in the car park, plenty of healthy ****s though. The room was standard PI. Comfy bed, decent bathroom (although with no working ventilation). Mostly clean, but one of the bedside lamps clearly hadn't been dusted in weeks. No decaff coffee. Needs better soundproofing as it's pretty close to the A2 - Top Tip, ask for a room overlooking the car park if you come here. Breakfast was at the Beefeater next door - a rather dismal approach through a litter-strewn car park and generally looking rather run down. Breakfast was variable - the world's cheapest orange juice that hardly had any colour to it; cereals OK, but no bin for wrapping; hot food was better, smaller amounts were put out than in many places so the food didn't dry out and was regularly restocked; pastries OK (but no knives around, so I had to pinch one from another table); coffee machine was OK but a bit slow and there was only the one which led to queues. Only two staff on duty front of house, they worked very hard. Premier Inn - if you're going to charge premier prices, you need to up your game here. By the way, if you have mobility issues, please be aware that there's no lift and that it can be quite a walk to some rooms. Bear this in mind when booking.
