The city hall in Basel is unexpectedly beautiful. Because it was early in the city center, other attractions did not open, so I arrived at the city hall first. The red sandstone architecture is particularly brightly colored, with gold decoration, very beautiful. The interior of the building is full of large murals and is rich in color. The red building is even more beautiful against the blue sky and white clouds.

Writing, I found that I missed a Basel City Hall, and quickly made up. Basel City Hall is located in the old city of Marquet Square, dark red facade, towering towers, beautiful painted interior walls, romantic arcades, majestic sculptures in the corner of the courtyard, all of which are strong and artistic. The town hall was built in the 16th century and is painted with exquisite paintings by famous ancient Swiss painters and hangs twelve insignias of the twelve cantons that joined the Swiss Confederation at the time.
This is a great historic building in the heart of Basel. Try it if possible. The ridiculous price of 5CHF allows you to visit quite a few interior rooms which is simply amazing. The history, woodwork and stained glass windows are great. Only one trip in English per week on Saturday afternoon. Very recommended. The tour group said it was 30 minutes but we ended up with a very pleasant 1 hour! Just book.
The Basel City Hall is a colorful Gothic building, the reddish-brown exterior is particularly gorgeous, and the medieval murals on the walls are very beautiful. The square under the City Hall is very old with blue brick paving.
