In some people's mouths, she is already a disappointing small island, while in others' mouths, she is still a gentle hometown for urban people. It's not difficult to tour the whole island in a day. Along the way, you can watch the sunrise on the shell beach, see the rare geological landscape of sea erosion cliffs, sea erosion caves, and sea erosion platforms in China when the tide recedes on the colorful beach. In the Catholic Church, you can learn about the history of the islanders' ancestors opening up a new home under the leadership of missionaries. In Crocodile Mountain Park, you can see the spectacular landform formed by volcanic eruptions on the scorched earth. Finally, at Dripping Water Danping, you can enjoy the sunset or try the water entertainment projects on the island. Camping on Weizhou Island is a very comfortable thing. The shell beach, colorful beach, dripping water Danping, and snail mouth beach on the island are all good choices. Although the old divers will not dive here, the water quality and coral ecology near Weizhou Island are considered to be above average in China. It's okay for novices to experience it. The best diving spot in this sea area is the slanting sun island in the deep sea, where the sea water is clear and the sea floor is wonderful. Snail mouth, South Bay, and Dripping Water Danping all have diving clubs, among which South Bay Water Sports Base is larger. There are also clown fish diving, volcanic island diving base and Xinchanglong diving tourism resort. Sea fishing is a characteristic activity of Weizhou Island. The hot season for sea fishing is from March to June every year, and the National Sea Fishing Championship is held here in May. The rocks by the sea of Crocodile Mountain are good fishing spots, usually yielding green clothes and grouper. The oil pier, piglet ridge, military pier, and slanting sun island hanging alone overseas are all excellent places for sea fishing. There are not many shops that rent fishing gear concentrated in South Bay, you can also go out to sea with fishermen to catch fish and live a pure half-day sea life.

The Colorful Beach is located about 24 kilometers north of the Burqin County town in Xinjiang and is the essential path to Habahe County and Kanas. It is adjacent to the rippling Erqis River , and the lush and verdant river valley scenery on the opposite bank complements each other, which can be described as 'one river separates two banks, each with its own distinct world'. The riverbank rock formations have varying resistance to weathering, resulting in an uneven contour, and the rocks display a variety of colors due to the different minerals they contain, hence the name 'Colorful Beach'. The rocks at the Colorful Beach are diverse, and under the sunlight at sunset, the colors of the rocks are mainly red, interspersed with green, purple, yellow, white, black, and transitional colors, making the entire Colorful Beach a kaleidoscope of colors, a typical colorful hill. The riverbanks of the Colorful Beach are crisscrossed with ravines and undulating in height, covering an area of about 3 square kilometers. Due to the varying resistance of the rock layers to weathering, they form an uneven contour, resembling colorful castles, monsters, and clusters of peaks, creating a landscape of peculiar landforms. Burqin's Colorful Beach, at an altitude of 480 meters, was shortlisted in 'Magical Northwest Top 100 Scenic Spots' in 2018. The scenic area is rated as AAAA level.

It's not that Weizhou Island is not nice, it's just not as great as described online 😅 Transportation✈️🚢 Flights from Hangzhou to Beihai are scarce and at inconvenient times, so I flew to Nanning, played for a day, then took the high-speed train to Beihai to catch a ferry to the island. Not flying directly to Beihai makes the journey more complicated... The island is quite small, mainly e-scooters➕tourist buses. It's cost-effective to charter a tourist bus when in a group. Accommodation🏠 Booked a homestay near the Colorful Beach for the sunrise, everything else was ok, but the breakfast was too perfunctory...
