This is the castle built by the British, now the seat of the Indian military and judiciary. It is difficult to see the style except for a land and museum near the church. The rest of the place is full of armed military handles, which cannot be entered at will.
It is amazing to understand how a handful of British on lookout for business, converted the divide and vulnerability of this country into an empire without fighting any serious war by using just some hired local talent. The museum also reflects how British artists and freelancers made a career out of visiting India and applying themselves. When you are committed and love your profession, success is a natural fallout. That sums up this Museum.
It is close to Marina Beach. The main building is the church. It is better-looking, but there is also a museum. There are also some oil paintings left over from the UK. Suitable for 1.5 hour trip.
1. It is now an administrative area, and many government offices are located here; 2. There is only a museum about Fort St. George. It is a two-story building. The exhibits are mainly British colonial artifacts. Foreigners are tickets for 200 rupees. St. Mary's Church is also a colonial-era building that remains, Gothic, still in use, free to visit.
