    Moving statue in central Jeonju

    We visited the Statue of Peace while walking around the sights in Jeonju. The statue is beautiful and it is a touching memorial to the Korean sex slaves of WWII.

    It's located in a square with a good view beside the Toyonan Gate, so I think it was quite conspicuous. There was a nameplate with explanations beside the elephant, but I didn't know what was written because it was only in Korean. The statue was covered with a muffler, but as far as I was looking at it, the locals seemed not interested.

    It is a site of history. I cry every time I go to each area with my children and find a girl statue. There is no big feature, but staying there alone is very heavy.
