Old Westbury Gardens

Relatives living on Long Island drove us there. A very beautiful large garden. The main house is carrying out a special exhibition of the people of Long Island and the war. Behind the entrance staff is the big tiger specimens that the owner hunted when he went to India to hunt. The furnishings in each room are beautiful. After coming out, I mainly walked along the trail by the lake. The air is very fresh. I saw a lot of mushrooms on the ground. Although it is not the flowering period of the rose at this time, there is still a smell in the rose garden. You can see the beauty of spring.

The old Wesbury estate is the home of financier John Jay Shaver Phipps (1874-1958) and his wife and four children. Mr. Phipps is the son of Henry Phipps, a partner at Carnegie Steel and a prominent philanthropist, and his wife's father is a partner at Glass Shipping. The garden-style manor was designed by London architect George Abraham Clary after the couple married.

The European-style castle-style manor house, which has been a hundred years old, is a real mansion.

An Italian-style century-old courtyard has now become a famous landscape on Long Island. Adults come here to play with their children on weekends. Concerts, family-themed activities, and children's play projects are all very fun.
