Amazing wall paint at Muragumo-gosyo
This temple is on the top of Mt. Hachiman at the remain of Hachiman castle. Feature of this temple is it’s composition, when moved from Kyoto 60 years ago, it’s necessary to reduce one third but not ...
It is a monzeki temple on Mt. Hachiman, but it seems to have been relocated in the Showa period and is small. At the entrance, there was a box where donations of 100 yen or more were solicited as an entrance fee.
It is the only temple of the Nichiren sect built on the site of the main enclosure on the top of Mt. Hachiman, which is said to have had the three-story castle tower of Hachiman Castle built by Hidetsugu Toyotomi, a warlord from the Sengoku and Azuchi-Momoyama periods. Born as the eldest son of Hideyoshi's older sister, he became the second kanpaku of the Toyotomi clan and was at the center of the administration, but after Hideyoshi's eldest son was born, he was excluded and mourned Hidetsugu's Bodhisattva, who had finished his last job in Mt. Koya. The temple built by my real mother in Kyoto was relocated here. Omihachi ...
A gate temple built on the site of Hachiman Castle Honmaru at the top of Mt. Hachiman overlooking Omi. It was a rainy day and it was late, so it was a mysterious place where there were no other tourists and the mind was wrapped in the fog. You can also see valuable modern electricity and furniture brought from the imperial palace. The works of the 2020 Lake Biwa Biennale were also exhibited. I definitely want to visit again.
I heard that the building in Kyoto city was relocated here to the summit of Mt. Hachiman in the 1930s at the family temple of Hidetsugu Toyotomi and his family. It is a venerable temple connected to the imperial family. Surprisingly, the cold wind from Lake Biwa was cold at the top of Mt. Hachiman in winter.
