Nirboyo Gate

Plengkung Nirbaya, located south of the South Square. Nirbaya comes from the word "nir" which means nothing, and the word "baya" which means danger. So this plengkung has a philosophy of no threatening danger. The Nirboyo Gate is also the exit for the bodies of the sultan and his family when they are about to be buried. Currently, Plengkung Nirboyo is better known as Plengkung Gading because it is located in the Gading area.

Plengkung Nirbaya or also often called Plengkung Gading is one of five plengkungs, which are located south of South Square, Yogyakarta City. The heritage building of the fort section of the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace has become a tourist icon of Jogja, as have Plengkung Wijilan and Tugu Pal Putih.
